What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

Hello, I'm SplashofOrangeJuice! This is the second mutato I've tried for, and I hope to make it my first! I'd like to wish eveyone good luck ^^'

Reason below, in it's designated place on the form.

I was puzzled for quite some time on what to name this beauty - City was my first go-to name, but it seemed to be lacking... and then it hit me. There must be a word for the reflection of city lights in the sky, right? I figured I'd give it a shot and I googled it I got several results, one of them being light pollution, which is also known as "skyglow." It just seemed to call to me, this is her name. And, it stuck. <33 [The link will take you to it's wiki page]

Skyglow (or sky glow) is the illumination of the night sky or parts of it.

Inside office buildings and really tall skyscrapers, watching the hustle and bustle of the city below. .........

Skyglow loves high places, and the thrill it gives her when she is among the clouds. Of course, she doesn't quite go that high, but some days it feels as such. She will scale the tallest skyscrapers and look down below at the changing lights and colors of traffic, or out to the horizon and watch the light of day fade away into a cool blue night. When it rains, she seeks shelter inside among the humans in their office spaces, and she stays near to the windows hiding under desks or behind trash cans as to not be seen. On fog filled days, she feels as if she's on top of the world, and, if she's not careful, she may jump off the edge and dive to the city below before flying to the next skyscraper she comes across. ♥

Reason for choosing the name
brooklyn, according to the wikipedia 'Brooklyn is the most populous of New York City's five boroughs, with approximately 2.5 million residents, and the second-largest in area.'
i thought naming her after a city would fit!

Mutato's favorite place to hang out
on the power lines
brooklyn enjoys a rest stop on the power lines after a long day of flying. she loves to chase the birds and balancing on the lines. she paces back and forth on the lines and often treats it like a game of how long she can go without falling. brooklyn practices this every day and by now is pretty damn good at it. she also enjoys looking at the lights at night, and watching them flicker off and on, as it is her favorite sight in the world

Skylights was tired from flying all day and night. He finally decided to rest. After zooming above a large city to find a safe spot for a few minutes, he found a nice little alley to land so he could regenerate with a good night's sleep. Skylights paced around the little alleyway before settling down and closing his eyes, letting the darkness consume him. He dreamt of wandering a busy city. It's building's lit up with the most beautiful lights. After a few hesitant moments, he soared high into the sky. This allowed all of the light from the stars to touch his pelt and the birds to barely be able to reach the trail his tail had left behind. When he awoke he awed his newly found patterns that show off the beauty of the city and flew so everyone could admire his beauty.

Reason for name~
When I think of a city, I think of it's beautiful skyline. The tall buildings remind me of mountains, and the fact that each big city has its own unique skyline I think is amazing.

Favorite Place to Hang Out~
You know those big spires that are on top of big skyscrapers, sort of like antenna? Yeah, he likes to hang out all the way up there. Perched precariously of them like a bird, he can watch the entire city scuttle around like ants from his little hangout. And, another benefit to hanging out on Skyscraper antenna, he can be high up while he's resting, which I guess isn't as bad as waiting on the ground.
