I really hope this does not come across as offensive to anyone, but I was brought up as a Christian and have always tried my best to be a good person, but recently I have begun to come up with questions that my mum wont answer (she gets upset that I'm questioning Christianity). so I was just wondering if there where someone had some answers to my questions

1. if god made the world in 6 day where did the dinosaurs come into it?

2. wouldn't ALOT of people go to hell?

3. why would god want people to go to hell?


those are just a few but I would be really grateful if anyone could give me some explanation?

Though many people have already replied, I may as well put my own two cents in.

1. The dinosaurs, according to Creation theory, would have been there the entire time- just like any of the other animals. However, they became extinct, probably because of Noah's flood- and if there were two of every animals, that would include dinosaurs, but they died off (as many animals have) due to the same reasons any other animal goes extinct. Living conditions, predators, being hunted by humans, etc.

2. Yes. There isn't much to say about this other than, yes, a lot of people probably have gone/go to Hell.

3. God doesn't want people to go to Hell, because He loves all of us. However, there's a sort of gap between God and man. He's simply too holy. Jesus bridged that gap by dying for our sin, but it's a gift that must be accepted.
I like to think of Heaven as some store or diner or club- but something super exclusive, that you must be impossibly perfect to qualify for. And God is like the owner who, despite us not meeting qualifications, generously gives us like a free membership or gift card or something of the like, in which to get in.
So now we can get in, right?
Right. However, if we decide to just discard our ticket in, or rip it up, or just not accept it, we cannot be surprised when we aren't allowed in.
God will always offer us the ticket in, because He loves us and wants us to come with Him, but He grants us free will, and allows us to choose whether or not to accept His offer.
If we refuse, He is sad for us, but won't over ride our free will and force us to accept. Then we'd be nothing but puppets or robots.


@Tanetane: Well you're encouraged to post, no matter what. ^_^ Even if your beliefs are controversial, I still enjoy reading your views, and I think it'd be a shame if you didn't participate at all, for fear of starting argument. After all, you can be gay or support gay rights (like me, actually) and still be a Christian. And you can believe in evolution, or reincarnation, or anything else- and still be a Christian.
Your only obligation is to believe in and accept Christ, and no matter what anyone says, you are saved.

1. Personally, I honestly cannot believe that the world was literally created in six days, or that humans and dinosaurs once lived together (no matter what form of human, Neanderthal or homo sapien). It doesn't make any sense to me, and I know with God, all things are possible, but it just doesn't look like that's how things panned out. Considering Jesus's love of parables, I believe the book of Genesis is largely a metaphor (describing the development of the human race, and evolution, at some parts.) But consider that in geological time, life was created in around the same "burst". For long times, the world was lifeless and when creatures did develop, they were simple and evolved slowly. And then, BOOM, in this relatively short time-span in the scheme this incredibly old Earth, all these animals started to appear. So, I have to say that the Earth is definitely older than what the literal interpretation of Genesis says, which makes the whole dinosaur thing a lot less confusing. ....Maybe. It's less confusing to me, at least.

2. Sadly... Yes. As the Bible says, the path to salvation is narrow, but the path to Hell very wide and easy to follow.

3. God never wanted any of his children to go to Hell, that is the will of Satan. It is Satan that occupies Hell, and Satan that wants you to suffer with him. However, God can't stop anyone from going to Hell, because that would rob us of our free will. To make it so everyone could go to Heaven, God would have to steal away our freedom to make choices, both wrong and right, and God knows that'd be a terribly horrible thing to do. So, it is a matter of whether or not someone is willing to accept God and Jesus, not that God sends people to Hell.

Do you guys think that pets will be in Heaven? I believe that animals will be in Heaven, and if they are, why couldn't people's specific pets be there? Unless those animals are special ones just from Heaven and weren't ever on Earth.

What I always thought was that time was different then, and that a day could be a really long time, like centuries or thousands of years or something. And that dinosaurs were around for a long time, which would only be a couple days in God's time, and died before He made humans. I also thought them dying in the flood instead of going on Noah's arc was maybe a possibility, but it did say two of every animal, and you would think a person would have documented seeing dinosaurs, unless they do mention it in the Bible.

I believe that- when a person gets to heaven, If you want a pet that you once had to be there, then that pet will be there. Or, that's what my grandfather says. That's what I believe, too.

this is for Christians! as a Christian, it is our job to tell others about Jesus . if we don't take action now, this world is going to get worse and worse. thoughts?

Amy; That could be a possibility as well, time could just go faster for God. Both of our theories make sense. And two of every unclean animal, seven of every clean, as I recall it. I don't think dinosaurs and humans ever co-existed, so I don't think 'saurs would have had the opportunity to go on Noah's Arch, simply because I don't think modern animals could have competed with dinosaurs. D: Although, there have been several cryptids that are dinosaurs or other miscellaneous extinct animals, and while I don't personally believe the claims, I guess that's something to look into.

Silver; I've heard people say that animals, when they die, their souls die with them, and I'd agree with that. Animals cannot sin. They have emotions and feelings, but you have to remember they still run on instinct, even the most intelligent ones. They don't know what's "wrong" or "right", and therefore can't enter Heaven or Hell. It's not the happiest thing to hear, but certainly not the worst, since it's at least a relief that no animal will spend an eternity suffering. I guess you could see an animal in Heaven if you want them there... Depending on what Heaven is like, but if it is a place where you get to live out your ideal life, all of your pets could be there with you, I suppose.
