What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

Name of the Mutato:
Mortimer Lowflier (also "Morti" or "Bubbles")

Reason for choosing the name:
Mortimer for 'mort' which in Latin means death and dying. He was named Lowflier due to a disease he has had since he was young, where his tail is too weak to fully contain the gases. Because of this he can only float short distances and is mostly grounded. Bubbles is a mocking name he is sometimes called due to the visible bubbles of gas that escape from his tail.

(Venito and Vencia, doctor and patient. Updated dress-up from two Halloweens back with a Venetian spin. The incense represents the scented tissues the doctors would use in the beaks to ward off the plague)

Reason for Choosing the Name

King Edward III's daughter, Joan Plantagenet, sadly died of the Black Death.
I feel that the name suits the mutato who I decided to be female since she also is more of an
essence than a being.

This is the resting place of a high lady who died, yes, she gets a burial, instead of the many other bodies that seem to be everywhere. Such as the skeleton over there. It is soon I shall be gone, off to bury yet another poor soul who didn't make it from the Black Death.
