"Haha, he's a little hard to work with, sure, but I kinda know he means well. He does talk about you alot, you're not wrong there," she chuckled slightly. "That's probably why I knew alot about you before I even introduced myself."

Norman sort of smiled. " Yeah...maybe...Carter's just a... Very...he's hard to pin down, I'll tell ya that! Half the time, I think he would rather work alone than work with me. " Norman slowed down and got in the turn lane. H turned on his blinker, waited for an opening, and turned into the station. "Well...we're here." He slowed down next to the door. "It was wonderful meeting you, Sam!" Norman smiled. " I would come in with you," he called, "but, truth be told, Carter and I got into a fight the last time we talked, and I doubt he would want to see me." He kind of chuckled, and inched in his seat. Norman looked up at Sam. "Um...here." He handed her a piece of paper. "It's my number...if you ever wanted to work together, you know."

"It was nice talking to you, Norman, and thanks for the ride," she nodded, taking the paper. "Alright, thanks." Samantha moved the hair from her face, walking to the front entrance and opening the door. She looked at all the late workers, seeing many familiar faces. Carter wasn't at his desk, so he was probably getting his nightly coffee. She shrugged and placed the documents on his desk before strolling off to her own office.

I fell face first on the bed, taking in the familiar scent of the blanket and pillows that were freshly cleaned before I arrived. I could smell the detergent and feel it's warmth on my face. I inhaled it, as it reminded me of home. Because, this was my second home. I turned on my phone. No new messages. I placed it on my bed, then sat up on my knees and took my jacket off, only to collapse on the bed again. I wasn't tired, but I was exhausted from loneliness. If that makes any sense.

My insomnia seemed to get the best of me, especially nights were I stayed home alone. It seemed like the more I stayed secluded, the more it got worse. Problem is, not many people I know are social. I mean, there are a few, but they never seem to call. Still, I hand out my number like I'm a desperate teen looking for a boyfriend. My mind then shot back to the war. And all the blood I had to see, all the bullets I had to dodge, the measures I had to do to stay safe.. just to take pictures for crying out loud! I laid myself down on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Memories of wounded, dead, and mentally disturbed soldiers flooded my mind just like it used to. The memories seemed to be burnt on my eyes, as I remember them still as vividly as when I did when I was experiencing them. I was young back then. Very young. It was my first job. I got paid really well because of the danger, and working alongside America's heroes seemed ideal to me. Now, I don't know if I would take it back. It sure would help me sleep at night. I never had this problem up until I firsthand woke up with a dead soldier beside me, covered in blood. That horrible sight was the first thing I woke up to. It's haunted my dreams when I have them, and it haunts my conscious mind too.

Norman nodded at her. "You, too. Call me anytime you want to work or chat. You're welcome." He smiled, waited for her to be safely in the building, and then pulled away onto the highway, making his way back to his hotel.

Norman walked into the hotel lobby, just to find the elevator was broken. "Sorry!" The desk manager called. "The elevator is down for the night...we don't know when it'll be back up. I'm sorry, sir, we're working on it."

Norman turned his head and smiled. "It's fine!" He called back, and then walked and looked up at the stairs. Man! Norman thought. Third floor it is then... He hesitantly put his foot on the first step, and slowly but surely, made his way up to his room.

He slid the key in the door, walked in, and shut it. He got into his pajamas and went to--or tried to-- go to sleep.

Sam did plan on working a little while, maybe digging up some leads but easily grew tired after hours of walking. She did her last check of all the profiles she had gathered before falling asleep on her desk, the documents in hand.

(( aw! How cute!!))

Norman opened his eyes again, kind of frustrated. It was another sleepless night...of dreams of the Origami Killer. He slowly got up and walked over to his desk.
Norman sat down, and opened the curtains to the window. He looked at all the cars zooming on the street, not that there was that many. Not at this time of night. The brown headed FBI Agent looked over at the clock. "2:00am, huh?" He picked up the ARI, and started up another game of Wall Ball.

He laughed to hi self as his score got higher and higher. "Pity I can't sleep...d*mn Origami Killer! I swear, I never want to see another piece of origami again!"

He then let the ball zoom past him onto the floor. "Madison! I bet she's up...at least I can talk to her." Norman then scooted the chair away from the desk to reach his cell phone by the tv. He stumbled through his pockets to find Madison's number. With shaking hands, he dialed her number and hoped she'd answer...

I got lost in thought and the ringtone on my phone snapped me out of it. No one ever calls me. Not even in the dead of night. Not even to be a designated driver. "Who was it?" I wondered to myself. It was a number my phone didn't have in it, and it didn't pick up caller ID either. "Hello?"

Norman's smile grew. "Hey, it's Norman. " his voice sounded raspier than it normally was, probably since he had been asleep. "Guess who can't sleep either?" He chuckled. "Hey, I'm going to take you up on your offer tonight, if that's alright?" Norman rolled his eyes and popped his eyebrows. "Might as well, since we can't sleep...besides, like you said, it never hurts to get to know someone better." He chuckled and then his tone got serious. "So..,ya wanna do something? Maybe go out somewhere?" Norman asked.

"Yeah, that's fine by me. What can we do at this time of night? I'm up for anything. Do you think maybe we could just go for a cruise? If you have a motorcycle helmet I could pick you up on my bike.. Well, if I knew where you lived.. I-I-I'm at the Hotel on the corner of Main and Skylight. Room 412. Maybe you can come over here and we'll decide where we go from there? Meet you outfront."
