Hey Everyone, This is CalicoWolf, and i would really like to start The CS Gazette again. Thing is tho, i start college again up in Aug. i have 5 classes and classes 5 days a week plus I'm President of the Fine Arts Club and in SGA and REALLY hoping for Work-Study because I need a job. BUT I do love CS and really enjoyed the Gazette. Perhaps we could do a slightly smaller paper so we can make sure it gets published and done right. Please feel free to post or PM with your ideas.

Do NOT join if you are gonna back out in a month or two.
Do NOT join if you are not going to follow the rules and guidelines.
Do NOT join if you are not going to have your assignment done by the deadline.
DO join if you are serious, because even tho this is a 'internet' paper, it is still part of the CS community and we are serious about it.
I fully understand life throws things to us [been thrown things since 2012, one thing after another so i do understand!], but please let me know, dont just ignore. Um... i'm going slightly brain mush because i'm not really good at demanding things. haha

So yeah just post your ideas and we can discuss them all as a group...
Also let me know if the old staff of the Gazette still wants to be part of The CS Gazette.

I'm still on board, definitely.
And while I would be perfectly fine with continuing something exactly like or akin to my old position, would there possibly be any room for me to write something along the lines of an editorial? A section that discusses any type of topic that would be relevant to CS at the time-- from official site news to moderate drama and gossip. I just think something like that would be a fun edition to the paper, outside of the direct site news that we've done in the past.

Cali, you should know I'm going to fight tooth and claw to stay here as the veteran writer in the corner...xD I'd be thrilled if I could stay on as an event writer, and still be happy to do backups for people who end up having emergencies and stuff. You know me, the over achiever... I'd gladly also like to offer the occasional editorial on trading situations and other things, like what to trade and insanities and stuff.

I also have some fresh ideas; I think something like an ask column would be a ton of fun and get the CS community engaged. And maybe to keep the staff engaged, and I know you're kind of against the paying idea, but what if there was a prize every month for the best work or something like that. Like a writer of the month, and they get some kind of prize be it art, pets, items, or something else. And you know how we end up having trouble at times with getting pets to prettify the pages? We should have one person with good item and/or art experience become our 'photographer.'

DLH, i have nothing against "paying" for I was doing that at first, but I don't want people to join JUST because they will be getting "free" Pets. I use to have groups for each and every CSG staff member and would give them pets at the end of the issue, remember? Its why I asked what people hoarded and if they didnt hoard, I gave them other WL or Missed outcomes. I dont think it would be fair to do a prize thing because then others will just get upset and leave or get upset and thing we are playing favorites. i do not mind paying, but I am not rich and I don't want people to join CSG JUST because they will be getting paid. I tried to keep "paying" on a down-low.

When this gets re-started, we have two papers to keep up with, one image heavy and one with minimum images for those with faulty computers...

Also I did like the articles we had before, but as was said before this paper should be a more community thing and i think it would be awesome to get the CS Community involved more in all different ways...

I would imagine a monthly poll would be the most obvious way to get involvement from users in the community outside of staff.
Just have a monthly poll about some little question ranging from opinions on the monthly adopts, events that are concurring, or opinions.

I think the idea I presented previously would be able to work: a mixture of reviews and opinions from the staff. There could be one half of the paper that consists of reviews and the other half filled with editorials about current events other than pets/items. The information that we had prior (reviews and such) would still be there, but the newer half could consist of articles based around what is going on in the community during the course of the month.
Just an idea.
