What is a Mutato?

In a rapidly changing world of rapidly accumulating toxic waste, Mutatoes take to the sky.
These creatures, affectionately dubbed Mutatoes, are a sad combination of an unknown creature, radioactive material, and a potato.
They live in the sky and consume UV radiation. They are the new era of Super Man.

At birth Mutatoes are about the size of a potato and can grow to around the size of a basketball.
Generally they are busy creatures who would prefer flying to being carried.
The Mutato is filled with the same kind of gases that its tail is made of.
These gases are currently unidentified, but are lighter than air- enabling them to fly.
They can stay in the air for a maximum of 20 hours straight before they need to land and "rest".
Though, when they can't be in the air, Mutatoes pace... a lot.

I really love how this one turned out <3 Based on space and the sun.

I chose the name harmony because the sun and moon seem to move in constant harmony wit each other, one always rising just as the other one sets.

Allons-y {Pronunciation here}

++Reason for choosing the name:
I chose this name because of two reasons. The first is that it is a French translation of the phrase "Let's go!" Now, while this may be a seemingly random choice for a space-themed mutato, it holds some significance. Allons-y, to me, reminds me to keep exploring. Let's keep exploring the stars and the galaxies. Let's go on an adventure. Let's go learn about the universe surrounding us so that we may better appreciate it's glory. It reminds me to keep striving for answers, for ideas, and for science. It reminds me to go place and imagine things. Let's go isn't simply something someone calls out when they're in a hurry, but rather a cry to come on an adventure or a journey, or perhaps even a quest through the universe.

And of course, I did mention there's another reason. That would be, of course, that the phrase "Allons-y," though pronounced a tad bit differently {hear it here} is one of the classic catchphrases of the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who. Now, even though Doctor Who doesn't always take place in the middle of space, many times when I see space themed designs, it is of this show that I am reminded. Doctor Who is the show that reminded to look up and the stars and encouraged me to dream about what might be out there. Because of this show, I've become more fascinated with the science of space, but also with it's beauty.

And so, as you can see, while at first my name choice might seem a bit odd, in the end, at least to me, it does have a greater meaning. Thank you. c:

Cassiopeia is a very pretty constellation, and has a good story behind it. You could say that this Mutato is Cassiopeia's Mutato form, forever wanting to be in the skies.

++Reason for choosing name: it means little potato sun-moon in Chinese. I dont know how to pronounce this name, but it sure is pretty, right? Another reason I chose it is becauseI love things written in foreign languages. I like Chinese because they use symbols we hardly know. And this little guy is a potato, and part sun part moon so he fits the name
