nora grew up in a stable house on a lovely ranch in wisconsin. she was taught to love everything and everyone, that respect was something to be given as well as received, and that you had to work for what's given to you. she was raised right, and alongside her brother jonah, she learned to appreciate nature and life and living. she'd always been a lively girl, adventurous, always on the go, always finding the positive in everything. she was the type of girl to go take her horse out into a field and sit for hours under a tree, in a tree, watching, listening, understanding. but the day the walkers came to her little fantasy land... she hasn't been the same. this change wasn't abrupt. it didn't set in for real until after she watched her mother get bit and after she watched her father shoot her mother in the forehead to keep her from coming further into the house to try and get them. it didn't set in for real until her father died unexpectedly on a run into town to get gun ammo. it set in for real when she realized she and her brother were alone on this, in this fight for their survival. and now? she works for what she's given, but she no longer appreciates nature because she's too busy worrying about what walker will come out of that distinct tree line. she doesn't appreciate life and the living because she knows they're almost done for. she's no longer adventurous. she prefers to stay in the camp where it's safe. she does still watch, listen, and understand, but its for her own good. she doesn't read anymore. she works on her shooting and aiming and survival tecniques. it's because she's terrified. deeply and completely filled with this caution and apprehension and she no longer wants to live anymore. the only reason she is is for her brother, sam, and that's because he's been through enough already. she's a strong little girl; it takes a lot to get her to cry, but she doesn't like herself anymore. she's still hanging onto her old life.
