[Scar.]

"I hate what I did to you." Taka admitted, glancing down at Sevilen with a small smile, he hasn't yet noticed, but the worst of his episode was over, and it was probably due to the calmness that had fallen over the room, rather than a blind panic. He leant his head against the wall, humming softly under his breath. He would make it better, somehow, he'd find a way. His breathing had returned to normal, and the air had thinned, no longer in its gelatinous state. Truth be told he also hated the house, the memories it held were less than pleasant to behold, but the first time he had walked past an auction, watching as Lilith was shoved out onto the stage, the sight of the broken girl had unnerved him to the extent that the girl had ended up wearing some of Lucy's old clothing, the two had stared at each other for around three days.

Sevilen kept her eyes closed. She moved a little closer to Taka, breathing deep. She was tempted to fall asleep against him. No one was there to stare yet, so she ignored her better judgement and stayed. Her fingers curled into the fabric over his knee and laying her head on his shoulder. "You're such an idiot." She murmured. "Why did you lie to me? Why did you throw that ax at the wall?" She asked, her eyes opening for just a second to look up at him. She knit her brow, her anger faded into an exhaustion that seemed long overdue. "I don't care if you toy with me. Just don't poke at my weak spots. I could have destroyed the loyalty between you and the others... But I didn't want to." Why? She could have done it easily and made him regret the pain he put her through. Why didn't she?

[Scar.]

Taka brushed a strand of Sevilen's hair away behind her ear, tilting his head down at her, "I know I'm an idiot. I should never have lied to you in the first place." He sighed softly, the pain only beginning to register from where the girl had hit him, "I think I was afraid to lose you, and yet I still did." He began to ask himself the same question Sevilen was asking him, why had he lied to her? There was nothing to gain from doing so. Had he lied? Or had he lied about lying? He leant back against the wall behind him, not fully registering what she had to say next, "Why didn't you?" He asked softly before he had any chance to run the question through his mind, it was, after all a pretty personal question, and he realised that with a start, "If you want to answer that, of course."

Sevilen felt and odd shiver run down her spine and grabbed the fabric under her fingers a little tighter when Taka brushed her hair away, not unlike when he first bought her. Afraid of losing her? Him? She didn't even lift her head to argue, instead keeping her eyes closed and listening to the soft thud of his blood rushing through his body and the heart pushing it through like a piston. "I don't really know." Sevilen admitted, eyes cracking open for just a second. "I could have. I didn't want to though. No matter how awful you were to me I couldn't take them from you. They're all you have." Her eyes shut again and she let herself be captivated by the sound of his heart once again before as she thought it over. She had a sleepy air hanging about her as she sighed. "That's all really. Well, and maybe I was hoping you were lying about what you said." She really didn't think that through, so she didn't have a bit of panic in her mind. She just relaxed into his side, enjoying his warmth. She was so at peace for just a moment that she wouldn't care if Lucky escaped and started to trample all the herbs around the house.

[Scar.]

"They're.." Taka started, but sighed, a lump in his throat as he glanced away from Sevilen, briefly closing his eyes, "They're the closest thing to a family I have," He admitted, his voice catching in his throat towards the end of his sentence, he only looked towards her when she leant into his side, and a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. This felt right, and the silence that had fallen over them made the moment all the more.. Calming. He finally allowed himself to relax, no longer waiting for something to happen. No longer fearing the unseen. Funny how things work out. People had gotten used to electricity. Giant mental machines flying through the air, movies that could be carried in your pocket, music that could be accessed at any times, on devices that used touch screens. And yet when something like the blackout happens, something so stupid, something so simple, something that was predicted by most. There is nothing that anybody can do, even with all the advances in technology, people had became too dependent.

Sevilen didn't speak anymore. It didn't seem right. She and Taka had spent lots of time talking, fighting, but she had never felt anything like this. Silence and heat. Silence at home was always a gap where everyone was thinking something unspeakable. A silent hate that no one wanted to admit. She forgot how noisy her mind could be and how settled she felt right now, just like when you kicked up sand and it finally settled down into the place it should be, and the ones that landed had just a second before they melted into their place so that no holes were left. Weird feeling, but it was nice. No holes. No screaming. No bloody knuckles or teary eyes, and she could have stayed there forever. Maybe she couldn't stay forever, but she was certainly going to stay until something broke them apart. Just like the sand she was thinking of clicking into place, she felt like her body did that too. When her muscles stopped trying to hold form and melted effortlessly to fit her to him, like this was the way she was supposed to be sitting. Her sides weren't meant to be straight and her arms weren't supposed to be crossed. This was the way they fit; perfectly smooth, touching him.

For once, Taka actually felt at peace with the world around him, nothing was hiding in the shadows of the room, nothing was moving in his peripheral vision. All of this, combined with the rhythmatic sound of Sevilen's breathing, he felt compelled to fall asleep right there and then, and for once doubted he would be plagued with nightmares as his dreams usually were. Something told him not to go to sleep, something told him to stay awake and just enjoy the moment. And so he didn't, too afraid to wake up alone again, to find that this was all just a dream designed to open his eyes to everything he had done wrong with his life, everything he had managed to mess up. He decided to stay where he was for as long as possible, keeping his eyes open until he no longer could. The whole situation just felt.. Right.

Somewhere between the gentle breaths and calm heartbeats, something in Sevilen's mind whirred back to life by an unknown spark. Her hands moved slowly, fingers curling first around Taka's wrist and upper arm and pulling it out just enough so that she could occupy the space where it once was. She didn't blush or speak or even show any new emotion. It was a gentle and fluid motion that her mind didn't really register as anything harmful. She guided his hand to her waist as permission to put it there and went back to laying against him, listening to his breath and heartbeat breaking the occasional noise from downstairs. She made an amused noise when she remembered that she was supposed to be mad at him. It seemed so pointless now. They were both in silence, perfectly happy for once. Someone would find them curled up like puppies eventually and have a good laugh, but she didn't really care. She'd remain. "Tell me the truth." She breathed. "What are you thinking?" There had to be something inside his mind. Or maybe there wasn't. There wasn't much inside hers at the moment.

Taka didn't move, just allowed Sevilen to move his arm, he allowed his hand to fall naturally in place, the girls voice broke the silence, and the man opened one eye, racking his brains for what he had been thinking about, but it was as though Sevilen had told him that his tongue was touching the bottom of his mouth, or that his clothes were touching his skin, he suddenly became aware of his thoughts, and they disappeared, much like a dream, he forgot about it almost instantly it took him a mere few seconds to realise what he had been thinking of, the whole thing soon sounded.. Stupid. Almost amusing in a tedious manner, so he sighed and shook his head, "My mind's all muddled," he murmured, not even thinking before he added the unneeded information, " 'M tired," he sighed, despite it only approaching the middle of the day, a sudden state of relaxation had fallen over, normally through all of his waking hours his mind was constantly bombarded by the voices of what he assumed to be the dead, but for once they were silent, they allowed him to enjoy the moment.

Sevilen gave a soft chuckle at Taka's answer. Her hand reached up to push away his hair and for a second her lips were dangerously close to his before she realized what was happening and pulled a bit. "Of course you're tired." She murmured. "You barely ever sleep." Her lips were curled just barely and her eyes were opened only to slits. "But I'm tired too." She admitted. She wasn't before. She had a rather restless sleep though. Being wet and cold all night was no fun. She played with his hair by brushing it back from his forehead and letting it fall back before pushing it away from his eyes and leaving it alone. The man had oddly enough gone from her worst enemy to the only thing in her world. There was nothing but this hallway and them. She was a little surprised that Taka had so easily accepted holding her. She kind of liked it.
