William curled up in Daniel's arms and found that he was finally able to relax. The kiss sent a warm feeling through him as though he'd just finished a good glass of wine. His eyelids slid half-closed and his breathing calmed, though it was occasionally interrupted by a sniffle or a hiccup.
Ringmaster actually had mixed feelings about that little innocent kiss. Eh, he'd swallow the thoughts and bury them deep for now. If it calmed William, it had to be alright. He snapped out of his reverie when Daniel addressed him. Oh boy, what a question! He gestured helplessly and then turned his gesture on William as he tried to form words and explain exactly how opposite of "alright" he felt at the moment. He soon gave up though and dropped himself into his chair with a sigh. "I am physically unharmed and I am very tired," he replied simply. He cast his gaze towards the ground as he rubbed absently at his bare shoulder to give his hands something to do. "Though... being separated hurt very, very much..."
William whimpered and Ringmaster looked up, afraid he might've triggered another wave of anxiety. Thankfully the man was simply making noises in his sleep.
