well, have you ever wondered why her bells are rusty? simply because of her old habbit. she simply could not just approach the fact that she couldn't swim anymore. it was like her whole life had been taken away. ling kai knew that was dangerous to swim again, so she didn't. instead, every day, from one to two hours, this koi would sit by the end of a lake or a pond. she didn't mind the fact that her bells were rusty, it just reminded her of when she used to swim, and that's why ling kai only allows water up to her tail, to make her bells rusty.
