13 - Pondering - With Musa

She nodded, confirming she understood. Still, she thought it was a little rude to exclude a subspecies from the rest of the kingdom just because they led people to their deaths - Okay, maybe they do have a point, She thought to herself. "Okay, there are Freshies, Salties, and sirens - but what about powers? Like, do all merpeople have powers? Or is it a luck of the draw kind of thing?" She asked, interested in how anyone got powers. It couldn't have been one day everyone but humans got powers. But even the Pokémon - who were semi-sentient at most - had more powers than she did.

16 - Interested - With Musa

"Yeah, and what powers do you have? Like can you talk to fish, or can you summon whirlpools when you need them?" Reva inquired. Unlike Pen who wanted to learn how powers worked since she had none, she was interested in meeting another person who - most likely - had similar powers to her. She knew that is was probably unlikely he could flip people onto tables and then break the tables when they hit said tables with said people, but she wasn't exactly looking for a match in strength. It'd be nice to have a sparring partner for her waterbending.

Musa "not every MerFolk have a power but nowadays most have at least one power and that's usually to be able to talk to fish but its not really considered a power to us because everyone can do it. I am lucky to be one of the MerFolk to have many powers, I can create bubbles like you saw, I can bend water a little and some other little powers" he said

She thought for a second, almost laughing at the irony of a giant "fitting in." Not that a giant couldn't fit in socially, it was just that there just weren't dozens giant houses waiting for the slight chance of a giant looking for a home. Still, she wanted to help him. But though she was good at some styles of magic, Bianca didn't know a growing or a height-altering spell. Then a lightbulb went off in her head. She couldn't make a house bigger, but there had to be someone who could in town. This way, she could go buy her ingredients and help this giant too. After all, how hard could it be to find a powder, or a spell, or even a stone that could make houses bigger? I really hope I didn't just jinx that, She thought bitterly. She knew that there was almost some jerk in the magical world with a sadistic sense of humor just waiting for an opportunity like that. But she wasn't struck by lightning so she ignored it and spoke again. "Actually, I don't know a place where you can stay, but I have a plan. I just need to get downtown and I can buy something to help. And what was your name again?"

"Really? So it's like you all have powers, but they're not really powers anymore? It's just as normal as like, pardon the comparison to something I know, riding a bicycle?" Pen said, her eyes wide. "And what do you mean by 'other powers'" She was smiling once again, completing putting the previous breakdown behind her. She wanted to hear about Musa now. Still, she did think it was a little rude they were getting all up into his business, and yet saying so little about themselves. Her hands hovered to her bag, where her Pokéballs were. Maybe she could show them to him if he asked.

"Yeah, what do you mean by 'other powers?' Is is like super strength, better hearing, or like being able to hold your breath for longer than normal?" The wolf asked, though not quite with the energy of her friend. She saw Pen almost reach into her bag, and from the look in her eye, she knew what the younger girl was thinking. "But if you want, I'm sure Pen here would love to show you something," Her eyes flashed over to the bag, where Pen shuffled around the contents for a while, until her hands grabbed a single, red Pokéball.

Musa nodded "we MerFolk have become so used to powers that it has become a normality like ridding a bike and by other powers I mean like teleporting to the nearest water source, just small water related powers" he said "now holding your breath longer then normal would be great wouldn't it? But I don't need something like that when I can breathe underwater"

Pen nodded, understanding what he was saying. The whole "teleporting" power seemed kind of cool, but who knew when that would come in handy. But since Musa had been so kind as to reveal most things about himself, Pen decided to do the same thing. "Well, is it alright that I show something about me now? I'm not trying to be self-centered, it just seems like we've been a little pushy with getting to know you," She said, while holding the Pokéball. "Is it alright if I show you my team?"

Reva thought for a moment. Pen wanted to bring her Pokémon team out, and although they were trained, there was no telling what would happen if they were brought out. Specifically, she was worried about Zuko, Pen's Blaziken. Now, that thing was six feet, three inches tall, and a little quick-tempered. If Musa or herself accidentally hit it with water, its weakness, a five foot-seven thirteen-year-old might not be able to control him. Not to mention that though it looks like it could kick you to next Tuesday, Pen thinks he's just the cutest and most adorable thing ever. "Hey, Pen," She whispered. "make sure you keep control of your team, okay?" Pen nodded, though Reva was still a little bit worried.

Pen nearly squealed with excitement. Who should she send out first? She could choose Zuko, Aaron, Mason, Toph, Seafoam, or even Sahmain! Her mind was racing with ideas. Still, her heart was set on the last one. Sahmain was a gentle giant, who was friends with everyone. Still, she had no idea how other trainers did this. This being choosing a Pokémon from their bag, knowing which one it was, and then throwing it. But she had a one in six chance, so what could happen? "Well, here goes nothing," She muttered under breath. Then, louder, she said, "Let's go, Sahmain!" With that, the Pokéball fell out of her gloved hands, split in mid-air, and with a flash of white light, landed a six-foot, seven-inch tall dinosaur-like creature with two pairs of wings like leaves. Sahmain roared, and flapped his wings pridefully. "Musa, meet Sahmain. He's a Tropius."

Reva was a little shocked at the appearance of Sahmain. It was quite a massive creature, and without the knowledge Pen had trained it, she would have ran away. Or try to punch it. Decisions, decisions, she thought with a smile. Then she remembered that this Pokémon could stomp on her and potentially crush a rib or two, and she stepped back a few feet. "I know this is weird for me to say, but you sure this thing is safe?" It might have been her imagination, but she swore the Pokémon raised his eyebrow at her. Then he noticed Musa and craned his long neck towards the merman.
