Darken stood there for a moment.. She didn't look like she was going to be mean or snappy. Just a little shocked at what had just happened. Snapping back into reality she shook his hand and she gave a smile. Though she was alone a lot. She wasn't a mean or bitter person. Some people called her pretty nice and laid back, but chooses to be alone. "Hi.. They just call me Darken. I just moved here a few days ago."

She doesn't look.

13 - Despairing - With Musa

Oh God, She thought. You blew it. If this was a time bomb, we'd all be dead right now. Why? Because I blew this like the Fourth of July. No, this is a cannon boom of awfulness. Rude, horrible, culturally insensitive awfulness. Why didn't I think? He's obviously upset about this, and there are some rather unfortunate implications about a girl laughing at a person's species. "Merking? Sounds very important," Pen said, looking like she was about to cry. But Pen really wanted to crawl into a little hole and rot there for the rest of eternity. She wanted to disappear forever and then never be seen again. No, she wanted to fly away, back to her home, so that she could land on her bed and sleep for the rest of her life, never reminded of the day that she dare insult the species of another creature.

16 - Patient - With Musa

Reva, seeing how she was having an emotional breakdown, moved over so that she was closer to Pen. "Hun, calm down. I'm sure Musa didn't take it to heart, right?" She said gently, wrapping her paw on around Pen's shoulder. "I'm sure that even though he might not be able to tell us his mission, he can explain some aspects of the mer-people culture, right?" Pen sniffled, her eyes red and tears streaking her peachy face, in a response, but she didn't say anything. She leaned over to Musa and whispered, "Play along unless you want your spine broken, okay?"

Musa "I didn't mean to sound angry and upset you Pen. I'm sorry it's just that almost everyone stereotypes MerFolk as always having a tail, living in the sea and singing to sailers" he said softly "but the truth is that not all MerFolk live in the sea, there are two types of MerFolk, the freshies like me and the Salties. Then they are broken into the sirens, who do most of the singing, and normal MerFolk like me who work and the jobs aren't that different from jobs here" he paused and gestured to the shops

Though she stopped crying, Pen didn't dare speak, despite Musa being fine. But she did agree think stereotypes were bad; after all, it seem like because she was blonde and not the most bright girl, that she would have to be saved by a dashing prince, or a hero of any kind. So, maybe she could turn this around. They did have some kind of middle ground. Still, she was a little wary. There was no telling what he might find offensive, since from what she heard, he came from a much different background from her. "So these 'sirens' really are a subspecies of mermaids then? And that's where the whole 'singing' comes from?" She managed, not daring to look him in the eye. To be brutally, she had no idea what a siren was. She thought they were the flashing lights and the loud noises they used for warning people. She had no idea where the whole 'fish people' concept got started.

Reva smiled, content Pen had stopped her emotional breakdown this fast. And the fact she was talking to someone. But as much as she cared for her, she was fascinated by this whole culture she had never heard of. And since both came from water-based background, she started to talk a little bit. "That's kind of like what we have. See, there's the Northern Tribe, that's at the North Pole, and the Southern Tribe, which you can guess is at the South Pole. I'm from that last one. And not all of us can bend water; it's kind of a genetic thing," She explained, though she wasn't so focused on what she said. She wanted to hear more about where Musa came from. Most importantly, she wanted to hear if he could summon giant waves of hydro-fury.

Darken looked at him and she just simply shrugged as she grabbed her clothes. Holding them tight in her small white hands. "Its ok I guess.. I haven't really lived her that long to judge. It's different, I'm from the country side of Japan so I'm not used to the big city." She said as she let go of his hand.

Musa nodded slightly "kinda like that yeah" he said to Reva then turned to Pen to explain what a Siren was "Siren's are usually the mermaids that sailers see when they are on a long journey out at sea, the Salty Sirens, lurer the sailers to their deaths by using their irresistible voices and are excluded from the Mer Kingdoms because of their dangerous nature, it's the same with the freshy sirens but they just lurer unsuspecting people into swamps" he said
