Anything could be protective towards you, it's how you and the item are connected. To me I got my lioness charm so I could be more connected to my spirit animal.

Even those small coin machine items like the things from the gumball machine things could even be protective towards you. Even a teddy bear from you're childhood could act as a comforting action, but if your looking for stuff on a necklace I'd start out my checking out the dollar shops, I have a lot of protective things from there. It's not how it costs that counts, it's the energy it gives off. Sometimes cheap things are better! (I furthermore apologize if this sounds ever so confusing).

Maybe look online for anything, do you have a favorite animal? You could find charms like those, I bought mine online since you rarely see anything lion-related or lioness-related for that matter in my town.

^ agreed. I've made glass beads and marbles into protective items before. Glass charges easily as can wooden items. finding something that is meaningfull to you will have a beter connection to you.

Thanks ^^ I'll go look around in my room for a bit later to see if I can make some of my random little knick-knacks into charms.

Ok so way before I became Wiccan I wanted to grow out my hair to donate it to locks of love(I may have the name wrong) anyways.I was talking to one of my Wiccan friends about this.I hade said something to them about how long my hair hade got and I needed to get it cut so I could donate it.She told me and I quote "You can't do that. The Wiccan law says it's bad and a form of self harm."
Is this true? I mean hair has no feeling and will grow back but I don't know.So is this true or is this for only true for some Wiccans?

the only religion I know of that forbids hair cuts is Sikhism and I don't think even thay consider it self-harm. Hair is healthier if it is trimmed regularly and your doing good through donating it. So I see no conflict, but then again I'm not a group practisioner.

@Pitbulls, Remember to cleanse any and all items you are going to use as charms. White Sage does wonders, but you can also use incense. C:

@Songa, I've never heard of it being a form of "self-harm" (and I've been part of the Wiccan society for about 9 years now). In fact I think of it as sharing positive energies. You're gifting someone with a precious part of you. There is no rule against cutting your hair, The Lord and Lady accept you as you are, so I'd say it might just be her, or her coven. And some covens do come up with small rules like that. But the only "rule" in Wicca about your body, is taking care of it.

Just wanted to let you all know that I had a wonderful night last night. Where I live, because I'm not sure where you're all from, we celebrate The Forth of July with fireworks. So I'd been visiting my mom for the last two weeks, and I knew I'd have to leave the next morning, so I convinced her to take me to the beach. You see, people all over the beach were lighting off fireworks. Just stepping onto the sand and kicking off my shoes felt great. I should feel the earth/sand under my feet, I could hear and see the ocean, I could smell the smoke of the fireworks, see them going off, and I could feel the ocean breeze on my face. The moon was shining, and I just felt so close to everything. I ended up digging a large pit and a sitting in it like a bean-bag/papasan chair. It was just so wonderful! I'm home now, and far from the beach, but now until I can go back I know I can always just think of that moment, and visit it when meditating.
Hi, I'm Willowkit17, feel free to call me Willow, or Crow...I prefer Crow.

But I just need something to calm my nerves

Tell you a thing in case you don't
Preferably a cigarette or something just as absurd

I know I miss you, but it's OK
Or maybe I want my anxiety to stay

I don't get depressed when I am lonely
'Cause in the end it's all I have to ease the pain

Of the distance that took you away"

I got a new deck of tarot cards. Anyone who didn't get a reading before want one now? Or anyone who had one before want another one? With school out, I will have way more time to do them. (:

That was wonderful to read, Willowkit. I also enjoy meditating about the locations of great feelings and memories; it sure sounds like you'll visit that place quite often. c:
