Alright, Gotta voice my opinion. Is it really needed to be a reason why the zombies came? I mean, yeah if your character a scientist then why not... But I am in the very slow progress of writing a book about a Zombie Apocalypse, and my main character (A boy named Noah) Is just a normal teenager (18) and can't reveal my plot, but he doesn't know how it happened, he just knows he doesn't like it if that makes sense?

Omg, if you love killing off your characters please quiet this and explain why!

I AM OBSESSED WITH IT. MWHAHAHAHAHA. IM SO EVIL!

    In one of my books it starts out with fourteen of them, and downgrades to like eight! {I even killed the two little twins daisy and her brother!} {both eight!}

I planned everyone's deaths eagerly, I'm so sick!

I'm very careful when killing off main characters, as you can literally never win with the crowd! What I mean is:

You try to make your story unique and just a little bit, well unique, and different, and so at the end of the book/series, you decide to kill the main character(s). But then, what you thought was a great idea, tends to be a nightmare with your audience! Or what I'm trying to actually bring across as I have a special way with words ( xD ), is that if you try and make your story different and kill the main character(s) everyone is like "Why did you do that (insert name here)!? We didn't want him/her to die, what a bad way to end the book/series!" and then if you don't kill a character, everyone will be like "Yeah it was a pretty good story but I think you should've maybe killed the main character(s)", so really, you can NEVER WIN!

But then, this is just coming from me, and I might have it all wrong xD. But I, personally, am I very careful with deaths because I want the book to go smoothly, the reader to experience tragedy and excitefullness (new word) without going overboard.

So this is my opinion on killing characters, like or diss it, I won't mind ;)

PS: lovelie one, the first one-shot I read, the one about fate, I simply cannot describe it! It really caught my attention and drew me in, I'd be interested for you to expand on it, if that was possible.

It's not always about killing the main character or his friends. It's about who their favorite is for me, I like to get my fans attached to one specific character and, depending on the story, around the middle of the book I will murder him! Or, I will twist it to make it seem like he is the bad guy. But, like I said before, it depends on the story.

I like to kill off the main character in the end, just to signal this is the end. I like to twist it up, say the main character has escaped many near-death experiences, then at the end of the novel/series, something happens to him/her, the readers might believe like, "Oh *blah blah blah's* going to survive this" then he/she doesn't, and actually dies. I just like to do that to my readers. :-)

Oh me! Oh life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here—that life exists and identity,

That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.
