I really want to write a zombie novel, but I fear people think they're overdone.
Looking for all 2010 staff litter dogs. Will possibly overpay.

Username: Decepticon Spark
What we will call you: Spark
Will you critique other's work?: Possibly
Links to your story if you have any: http://figment.com/books/543272-Serpy
Anything you want us to know?: Hmm...unlike some people, I'm not that interested in romance. I like reading/writing sci-fi/fantasy/humor and usually that type of stuff. My work is sometimes serious, sometimes completely pointless, and usually all-around insane. I especially like mixing up genres. C:

Mrrrr you guys are too sweet. ^-^

I don't like killing off any of my characters, because then I don't get to use them again someday. For instance, I'm pretty sure the two big baddies of one of my projects will die, in ways that'll make the reader happy, but I was really reluctant to do so, because they're such fun baddies to write.

@ Neon: Actually, there are some aspects of Zombies that have not been done. You might look up Zombie fungus (if you have a strong stomach, that is). I'm not sure there's ever been a successful zombie story that's used that. Just mysterious viruses, never a really freaky fungus that controls people's brains. :P What were your ideas for the story? What is it that you want to write?

@Roseangel: That's such a fun technique. I've never actually done that, but it's so tempting. Unfortunately, editors tend to hate that, because they're trying to figure out if your main character will be marketable, and then you kill them off. *twitch* Editors don't like pointless reading. xD (One of my favourite thrillers starts like that. The blurb in the back of the book even talks about the main-dead-character and his friend being alive and having this adventure, but it's not truuuue)
INSANELY BUSY!
I am moving! For the next month or so, I am going to be so very busy.
If I'm on here, it's because I'm unwinding with writing or pets or whatever.
Please do not add to my stress, if you can. Your support is appreciated.

Well, I'm not really sure yet. I'm still in that brainstorming stage. The fungus idea is very interesting. I have a strong stomach, so that's definately something to think about. If you don't mind me possubly using that idea that is!

@roseangel: Lol! Yeah, maybe... (about Raindrop). Actually, since I write about death in every single novel of mine, I just couldn't resist killing off some characters from Raindrop of mine...
@invisible_redhead: It was always hard for me to decide on who to kill or not kill off, but the more I got used to it, the easier it became to say, "I'm putting my hand down. *Blah blah blah* will die!" My series, Golden Sword's, last book, This is the End, is going to be a tragedy. I decided to kill off most of the characters the readers would have come to know so well.
Image
Oh me! Oh life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here—that life exists and identity,

That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.

Killing characters off is an interesting process for me. I love all of my characters, even the ones that I hate. I lso enjoy writing all of them. When the time comes for me to kill a character, sometimes I feel overwhelming guilt because I've come to love them. Okay, always. Well, not always always, because sometimes I'm excited to kill a character because it will cause conflict and interesting stuff. So I'll be like, "Mom, today I'm gonna kill a character! That's sad and exciting!" But other times, most of the time, I'm about to cry even when I think about it.

I can imagine that book being frustrating. When I edit, I get frustrated just editing and I can't even imagine that switch happening to me...no wait I can. It sucks. Well, then , it's a good thing I'm switching it up*Strolls away whistling*

As long as they are your pets and not mine...you can kill them. Not in a super horrific way though because Raindrop is a normally happy place(Oh! I know! Dead pets can live in a cemetery....*Runs off to plot[Hah. Plot. Oh my god, so not funny, but very punny. ... I'm going to go sleep so I can be less loopy.])

Not at all! The idea is fairly old, actually, and not mine to begin with. (Plus it's real and you can't copyright real. O.O) There has been a video game with fungus zombies as the villains (the last of us) but not much else, I think? :)

Ooh, ooh! I love confusing, weird things! Pick me, pick me! Ahem. I'd love to read it over for you! However, just a warning, I seem to make sense of things that don't make sense (to other people) and get confused by things that make perfect sense by others? cx

Haha, thanks! I'll send it to you =] The more opinions, the better; the more different the people, the better =D
