By this point, most pokemon had long since fallen into hushed tones out of awe. Many whispered (some, however, couldn't contain their excitement, giving sound to this little journey) over what was to come. They were newcomers after all, taken by the moment, or the view. Yes, the view was quite breathtaking as well; a structure atop a cliff tended to give a good sight in any direction. The structure in question was none other than the King's Guild, one of the few guilds still remaining in the region. Finally, the day had come to finally see what was inside this mysterious and famous place.

While it appeared that many of the pokemon had come in pairs, triples, and even fours. Singles weren't uncommon either, though. One of those "singles" happened to just be arriving now. The preferred method of travel to the guild was by foot or even air, but this pokemon had taken to the trees.

Duke swung from limb to limb among the trees flanking the trail. It was much faster than walking, and he couldn't exactly fly. More and more pokemon were willing to form Exploration Teams as of late, but that didn't mean they all made it passed the training. Duke didn't have a doubt in his mind that he would make it and move on to become one of the next greatest Explorers. But first, he'd have to make it into a guild. Easy peasy.

He landed with a thump in front of the guild's gates, shocking some of the surrounding pokemon from his sudden appearance. They quickly got over it, and continued on. Duke rushed through the open gates and inside. He was taken back by the lack of, well, anything really. It was a nearly empty room, except for an opening with a ladder descending into the ground.

Sophie flapped her wings as quick as she could. Today was the day she joined the guild. She grinned at the mass amount of Pokémon gathered outside. She landed softly and watched as a Mankey practically rushed into the guild. She laughed to herself, but followed close behind. She was being stared at by quite a few other Pokémon but she didn't care. They were all still staring at the building, Yeah, cause' staring at will do any good. Sheesh she thought to herself. She rolled her eyes and entered. There was a medium sized room with a ladder leading underground. She sighed, she preferred the sky but oh well. She watched the Mankey and wondered if he would descend or not.

[Alkene]

The young Riolu sprinted toward the guild's entrance. Her paws making no noise as she gracefully ran. Was she late? Giving a small sigh, she stopped in front of the crowd of newcomers. "Everyone has beaten me here" she mumbled, giving a slight frown. Many newcomers gave her looks of disapproval, as if they were better then her. She shook it off and headed in, blinking when she saw two other pokemon. Not waiting for them, she descended down the ladder, almost jumping down. Her long fur swayed every which way as she made her way down.

Baron had already arrived at the guild's front. He glanced around for a while, wondering if everyone had a team. "Out of the way" he said, flapping his wings when come newcomers blocked the gates. He huffed and swooped in, tilting his head. "What are you two waiting for?" he asked Sophie and Duke.

Sophie was growing impatient and was about to make her way to the ladder when a Riolu rushed down it. She huffed and backed up. She looked at the Mankey and looked back toward the entrance when she heard a commotion. There was a young Starly that was shooing everyone out of his path. She smiled a little because everyone was getting flustered. As the Starly walked in and asked what they were waiting for she rolled her ruby eyes. "Well, I was trying to be polite to the Mankey over there. He was here first so I figured I would let him descend before myself. Then a Riolu rushed past and beat me to it. Anyways, I'm Sophie see ya at the bottom!" she said with a sly grin. She just leaped down the opening and flapped her wings to slow her descent. She landed with a soft thump. She looked up the ladder waiting for the Starly to follow. "Coming or not?" she shouted up at the two Pokemon who were still up there.

[Korra's Left Foot]

Duke came to his senses after hearing several pokemon around him, waiting to climb down to the next room. "Oi, I was just looking around," he said. Apparently he had been holding up a line. A Riolu and Pidgy took no time to move around, leaving the one Starly. "See you at the bottom," Duke grinned and leaped through the hole. He slid down the ladder with ease and came to rest at the bottom.

His eyes widened at the size of the room. It may have been underground, but it was well lit with windows in the cliff face and the occasional torch. There were already quite a few pokemon hanging around the chamber, but there was still plenty of room. Several pokemon rushed about the edges of the room, probably current members still getting ready for the day's work. Duke could only move a few steps before he took to staring off at everything again.

[Alkene]

Baron simply made a "pfft" before flapping his wings and darting straight down the ladder like a bullet. Before he could slam into the ground, he swooped up and gracefully landed. He glanced around the chamber, tilting his head in curiosity. So much to see! His wings neatly folded against his sides as he walked in a little further.

Sereena's fur bristled at the sight. There were more pokemon inside the chamber than outside the gates. Her orange-red eyes skimmed the area, looking around. A couple of excited members brushed past against her, chatting with each other about their previous exploration. The riolu's ears pricked in excitement, ready for an adventure of her own.

Sophie laughed as the other two finally made it down the ladder. The male Starly seemed to be a great flyer. She smiled. She finally looked around the room and gasped. It was huge. She looked around at all the different Pokemon. She decided to stick with the Starly from earlier. She made her way through the mass amount of Pokemon so she could stand next to him. "So um...what is your names?" she asked of the Mankey and the Starly. She spotted the Riolu from earlier but didnt want to fight through the crowd again.

[Alkene]

"I'm Baron and don't you forget it!" the starly replied to Sophie, holding out one of his wings. He puffed up his feathers and let them settle back down neatly. "What's yours, lass?" he than asked, tilting his head again. A bunch of members pushed past him. He flapped his wings in annoyance, growling just a bit. "Have they no respect?!".

"I am Sophie, nice to meet you Baron" she said. She huffed as she got pushed as well. She was shoved by a large Charmeleon and she fell against Baron. "Jeez! I am sorry Baron. Hey you! Watch it!" she said glaring at the Charmeleon's back. She puffed her feathers with frustration and fixed her pendant. She smoothed her feathers and tried to remain calm. "Well thats just great. So do you have a partner? I-I mean like a team partner?" she stammered. Ugh dont stammer you dummy. she thought with frustration. Could this day get any better?

Before Sophie could tumble over, Baron steadied her a bit with one of his wings. He wasn't fazed with the question she asked next. "No, I haven't formed a team. I came alone" He replied, pulling his wing back and folding it. He blinked and drew something in the dirt with his claw in a bored manner. "How about you? Do you have partners?".
