Dustpaw growled and bit Jake's ear, pulling hard.

Jake slashed at Dustpaw's chest, and when he got his ear free he leaped at him again and pinned him down. "Give it up!" He growled, putting his paw on Dustpaw's neck. "Now I'll get off, and you can either be a smart little kitty and run back home, or be a mouse-brain and die right here and now." Jake said and jumped off, keeping his eyes on the apprentice.

Dustpaw stood up, panting. He did have to admit, Jake was tough. But he wanted to be tougher, and he wanted to prove to him that he was tougher. "Your an intruder and I'm going to drive you out, even if it's the last thing I do!" Dustpaw foolishly vowed. He leaped at Jake and rolled over and over, clawing and biting as he went.

Blacktrail was padding in the forest by herself when she heard hissing and the tearing of pelts, and then she scented something. "Dustpaw?"

Jake hissed furiously, clawing and biting as well. When the stopped rolling he leaped up, blood dripping from his pelt. "Foolish cat!" He spat, ramming into his side. "I'll leave when I please!"

Dustpaw was pushed over. He hit the ground, and hard. Dustpaw hissed and sank his teeth into Jake's shoulder, clawing at his other with his forepaw.

Blacktrail sprinted toward the sound of the fighting. "Dustpaw! I'm coming!"

Jake sunk his teeth into Dustpaw's leg, holding on tightly.

Dustpaw let go of Jake's shoulder and yowled with pain. He heard his sister yowling from a distance. "You're in trouble now!" he hisses at Jake. Dustpaw could feel himself getting more weaker and more tired. He was losing plenty of blood, and he knew that. Dustpaw clawed Jake across the eye. "This is a warning, kittypet!" he yowls more confidently.

Blacktrail could see her brother's ear from where she was. "Dustpaw!"

Jake let go and leaped at him, rolling again down a hill and towards the river. Jake claws and bit furiously, when he realized they were tumbling towards the river and he yowled in fear, letting go of Dustpaw and desperately trying to get a grip on something to stop him from sliding in the mud right into the river.

Dustpaw yowls in surprise as Jake lets go and Dustpaw falls in the river. He comes spluttering to the top and tries to swim toward the bank, but he quickly disappears under the water again.

Blacktrail watches with terror as her brother tumbles into the river. She races after him.

Jake fell in the river also, flailing his paws helplessly in the cold water. He got dragged under by the current, and shot up moments later gasping for breath before being pulled under again.
