The car ride to the campsite had been a nightmare. As the beat up but reliable van came to a full stop, a girl in a flowing grey skirt with rose red hair launched herself of the back seat, stretching her legs. They were stiff and sore from the three and a half hour ride; Genevieve was infinitely glad to be out of the car. The yearly trip was always something to look forward to, but the ride there... Not so much.

Her aunts, knowing that she would be excited to greet her friends in person for the first time this year, made a deal with her that if she makes dinner that night, she can skip setting up the camper. In agreement with them, the girl walked off with a bounce in her step to go find a few friends.

I stepped out of my beat up, old, yellow, VW van. AWOLNATION was playing loudly but stopped as I turned off the van. My black hair was tied up in a loose top knot and I pwas wearing cut offs and a daisy top. I slid my round lensed, John Lennon sunglasses onto the top of my head. I looked around the campsite that was a two minute walk to the beach and smiled to myself before walking around and opening the back of my van. The inside was set up like a room. A mattress on the floor and blankets hung around the interior. I pulled a couple chairs, some wood, food and other supplies out and turned on the radio to my favorite modern too station. I started setting up my stuff listening to the sounds of Acres of Lions.

The entire car ride up there she had chatted with her grandfather,they had actually found an interesting topic to talk about.Her grandfather's beat up truck was peeling off it's green paint,and rusting to a reddish brown color,but it would still get them to the campsite in one piece.Her grandfather had agreed to let her go and meet her friends before coming back to help him set up the tents. The excitement was swelling up inside her,just like it would be for anyone else in her position.She felt as if she could burst when the truck rolled up into the campsite parking,yet none of this showed on her face.She helped her grandfather pull out their stuff before parting ways to go and see her friends for the first time in person.

Gen watched the green van pull up to the campsites and let a girl out, recognizing her as Mercy. Wow, her van's even sadder than ours, she thought to herself. Humming the chorus from "Hey Jude" to herself, she strode up to the new arrival. The song had played at least twice on her iPod and now it was stuck in her head. She didn't mind it at all; it was a great song from one of her favourite bands.

"Mercy, hey!" She spoke with a cool, relaxed tone that made her seem so approachable to the people that chose to be her friend back home. She raised a hand in a small wave.

I pulled my black Ford into the campsite. It'd been an exhausting and boring ride. There'd been nobody to talk to, as I had driven up here by myself. My parents had been too busy with helping my brother, Greg, move into his dorm for college.
I stretch my legs as I gaze around the campsite. I noticed a green van that has clearly seen better days. Two girls stood beside, seeming to be chatting among themselves. I wasn't too sure who to talk to. None of these faces were familar to me. Seeing as I ived the furthest away, it was clear I was going to have to make some friends.

I noticed a few more cars pull into the campsite as I grab a bottle of Vodka from under the bedding in the back of my van. I took a sip the put it under the covers again. I started to walk around the campsite, wanting to see if I knew anyone or if anyone here wanted to party. I had a plan to have a beach fire, booze and marshmallows included. Hopefully this camp wasn't full of squares or oldies, that would suck.

Kat sighed once more and turned to her left. A black Ford had just pulled into the lot, a few spaces over from her silver convertible. She didn't even care what kind of car she owned, just that it was pretty and it was her baby. And she didn't have to pay for it. She watched as someone who looked almost as lost as she did stepped out of the Ford. She figured she couldn't just stand there by herself. Well. Here goes. Kat mustered up all of her courage and walked over to the newcomer.
"Hi. I'm Kat." She smiled confidently and held out a manicured hand."Listen, I have no idea what I'm doing here, and it seems like you're pretty lost as well. I'd rather not stand by my car all alone, and I don't know anyone else here, so I walked on over." She spoke kindly, as usual, but in a hushed tone so no one would hear her awkwardly trying to make a friend. Or at least, to find someone to stand with so she didn't look all pathetic and lonely.

Jax was once again left in surprise when he found out that he was going camping. He hadn't been camping since he was about eleven years young and his father was taking him. That wasn't the best trip ever, but he still managed to make it okay for the two of them. He sighed softly as he tightened his bag on his shoulders. The book bag was a little too big for him, but he didn't want to take it back. As he made his way to his Jeep he made sure he had himself together. Jax threw his bag in the passenger seat and jumped in the car himself. He drove off and went to the camp sight. He looked at all the other cars and decided to park behind them all. "I must be the last one?," he asked himself aloud. After he pulled to a complete stop he emerged from the car taking his bookbag with him. He glanced back at the car to watch the headlights flicker signaling him that the car was locked. Jax approached the others with caution trying not to interrupte their conversation.

I was in lost in my thoughts when I suddenly heard a voice coming from my left. Turning to see who it was, I saw a girl who appeared to my age. It was obvious her parents were rich. Her clothes and car definately cost a lot of money. My family wasn't poor, but we weren't rich either. I suddenly felt my self-confidence drop a smidge as I looked at my ford that was in dire need of a wash.
I shook her hand and smiled slightly. "Hello, I'm in Aiden." I paused for a second and then continued, "Yeah, you're right. I'm lost. I don't know anybody here. I live far away from here. Let's just say the car ride was boring and tiring."
