Anyone Playing Dragcave? V.16

i'm confused about one thing.
if i were to introduce a different dragon to mine, and it's breed isnt in the lineage, but i stick to that combination, would i mess up the lineage?

like if i had a tinsel whose parents were a tinsel x vine, and is 2nd gen, could i possibly pair it with a cb royal blue?
and i paired it's tinsel offspring also with a cb royal blue?
would it keep it's value if the outcome was still a tinsel?

If it was a second gen, it would still have some value since the next person could flip back and forth between the two breeds. But if it get longer with royals instead of vines, it becomes more and more difficult to continue the line and the value drops.

But it wouldn't be too bad since it's still a stairstep tinsel.
