Username: sparrow,
Nickname: Not really, there's no real way to shorten Sparrow. Some friends call me the annoying bird though. ;D
Do you have an aviation related job?: If you consider an internship a job, then I guess, yes. I've worked summers with a family owned business in Jacksonville, FL for about four years now. I plan on going into the Airforce as an Aviation Tech. to serve my country while doing what I love. :)
Why are you interested in aviation?: My entire family has been Military, other than the ones that've had medical conditions that prevent them from joining, however they're all Navy. I picked up my passion when I went to work with my dad on father's day when I was five. I only see him during summers, but I spend everyday at work with him, and I have since that day. I've fallen in love with my job working on planes, and although i've been set on joining the navy, now that i've grown older, I realize that the best way for me to join the Military would be to work in the Airforce branch.
I considered being a pilot, and I've flown many of the planes that I work on (unlicensed of course ;) ), but I realize there would be no use. Piloted planes these days are being replaced by geeks with remotes and drones. It's safer and more efficient. I mean- it sucks for pilots, but I guess that's why I haven't ever wanted to be one. (*However I do know planes inside out, I've learned to fly them to see what is wrong.)
What is your favorite aircraft?: I remember going to a hangar down the road from ours with my dad when I was just starting out. We were supposed to take a look at a failing Garmin system and fix (or replace) it. The man was a billionaire. His planes to him were play-toys. It disgusted me. However he did put a good couple of million into restoring one of the planes he'd found. Probably one of the most gorgeous restorations i've ever seen, this man had a WWII fighter aircraft. He'd just finished restoring it the day we came in, with a brand new coat of protective waxing on it. <3 I've never forgotten that plane.
Sorry if I'm not posting often. I've got a few things going on in real life. I've also been having week-long migraines so bad that I cannot see. I hope everyone understands.

Welcome, Sparrow! ^^ Thank you for joining; happy to have you aboard!
(I added you to the members list - let me know if I got it right! c: )
That's fanatastic that you want to join the branch! I know what you mean about the remote control and unmanned drones; it does suck for pilots out there in the business. Hopefully, though, the civilian population will still need pilots for quite a while.
What type of planes do you enjoy working on/flying the most?

This may seem hilarious given my line of work, but I am actually terrified of heights. DX I can pull myself together to get the job done, but I haven't been able to get over my fear. I have a skydiving permit ( I've gone quite a bit ) and I swear I have to be pushed out -but I'm working on it. Therefore I do not enjoy flying any planes.
Of course they're the hardest but I love working on custom planes. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to fly down to my father's this summer because of my own personal pride issues as well as my brother who's done something so terrible I won't even look at him. I spent my winter and spring break (and the time in between) working for six months on avionics for a custom plane. My dad and I call it the Monster. Most of my pictures are on facebook and photobucket (so don't mind the enormous sizes).

Username: Ryukin
Nickname (what would you like to be called?): Ryu is fine ^^
Do you have an aviation related job?: Nope, and not really planning to, just a nice hobby so far to fly a plane.
Why are you interested in aviation?: My dad and 2 of my older siblings are both involved in Ohio Bush Planes, and private aviation in general, and my dad/sister/brother and I always fly on over to a certain airport restaurant for breakfast every Sunday with about 14 other OBPers. ouo
What is your favorite aircraft?: It's a fight between a Skyhawk II and a Scout. I've flown both, and I do find the Skyhawk easier as far as landing and taking off and general flight, but Scouts are so dang fun, whether you're the pilot or the passenger!
