awah, well, I respect your resolve bull ^^

I'll respond to all my RPs soon, I super duper double chocolate promise. sorry, I've been brain farting the last couple of days ;;
but HEY if any of y'all are interested in tumblr rps / crime teams rps then check this out? we're in need of more male applications (a male original character especially, I think, since we've got no applications for that, but any male would do)!

Sonder ;; Super late reply Aw, I'm sorry to hear it, but alright. c: [edit: this was in reply to saying you couldn't join the off-site dystopia roleplay]

Bull ;; That's the premise behind iwaku too, right? I'm not sure how I feel on it. On one hand, I do agree no one should be judged based off their literacy level- we all had to start somewhere, and putting someone down just for being where you once were isn't at all right. Though, on the other hand, there's no stopping them from working just as hard as those who can claim to be 'literate' to become 'literate'. I don't know, I guess what I'm saying is while I definitely don't approve of looking down on them, I don't think it should be looked at as a discouragement as people think- rather a motivator to become even better. That's what happened for me, when I didn't get accepted the first time to this club, it just made me want to work harder to prove myself. I guess what I'm saying is that the term 'literate' shouldn't be looked at as a type of classification that labels anyone who isn't there yet as beneath those who are, rather a goal everyone should try and strive for. Or something I don't know.
Sorry to write this all out at you, this isn't really aimed at you- or me trying to shove my own ideals at you or anything, this is all just my own speculations. >u> In fact, I'd love to hear your- or really anyone's- opinion on it C:

Next, about the futurist dystopia-like roleplay I promise is almost done- would anyone be willing to co-own it with me? Or something like that? I just have so many ideas, and am waaay too unorganized to process them all. Not to mention this will be my first time owning one, so it be awesome to have someone to bounce idea's off of. Please? Anyone?

Yes, Iwaku has the same belief system as I.

I get what you're saying, and that's a good point, but people shouldn't need to have literate/semi-literate people pushing them to get the writing results that they want. Consider it like this; if you train a dog with hugs and treats it'll learn, but so will a dog who's kicked and screamed at. Both will have the same results, but the ones that are screamed and kick will not have as much fun with learning, and will be pushing themselves to extremes that maybe they don't want. That's one thing that I have always hated about this club, is the fact that it doesn't even offer that much help to the members. You could argue that the "rping school" does something, though I have yet to see good results come from it. Some iliterate people hate us because of how we look down on them with judgement. Even though you say that you're against looking down at these people you still post here, the root of his bais.

Sorry if that last bit sounded harsh. I just no longer approve of what this club stands for.

Hm, I understand what you're saying- I do agree that no one should be looked down upon, but honestly, I never really saw the club as doing that. Perhaps I just have a naive outlook on things, but I always viewed it more as a place to show off your 'battle stripes' then as a place to look down on others. If you're proud of something, don't you have the right to show it off? As for the idea of helping others, by all means we definitely should, but at the same time- and I don't mean to sound rude or anything when I say this- but is that really what this club is for? Some 'players, no matter how literate they are, just don't make the best teachers. [Me, being a prime example.] You do have a point that some may simply not want to rise to the challenge, happy with where they are, and that's totally fine. Why force them into something they don't want? Thus, no one should judge them for it; bringing me back to my point that no one should be judged for their literacy level, but those who have achieved something should be able to be proud of it- with out putting down or looking down on others. That's possible, right?
And I really hope no one hates me just because I'm apart of this club, I swear I don't look down on anyone who isn't .n. Anyone who likes to roleplay scores instant points in my book. Writing is an awesome hobby everyone should be apart of, no matter how they prefer doing it.

Personally I appreciate the use of the literacy scale like I appreciate ski resorts having bunny slopes and black diamonds clearly marked. It's not that one is better or worse, or that you are only permitted to ski down one, but this way you know what you're getting into.
I don't always feel like performing to the top of my capability and there's nothing wrong with people who will never perform up to this standard, but I do want to know if I'm getting into a roleplay that will challenge me or be a walk in the park. To me it's not a matter of better or worse, simply a measurement of how much effort is expected.
What I dislike about this club is the length requirement. IMHO literacy is more about creating a story, developing characters, and fleshing out a plot than it is about pumping out multiple paragraphs dressed up with fancy adjectives. While that's all well and good, I would rather have three lines of a complex and well thought-out roleplay than five paragraphs of fluff that never goes below the surface or attempts to wrangle multiple plot arcs.

VOILA! IN VIEW A HUMBLE VAUDEVILLIAN VETERAN CAST VICARIOUSLY AS BOTH VICTIM AND VILLAIN BY THE VICISSITUDES OF FATE. THIS VISAGE, NO MERE VENEER OF VANITY, IS A VESTIGE OF THE VOC POPULI, NOW VACANT, VANISHED. HOWEVER THIS VALOROUS VISITATION OF A BYGONE VEXATION STANDS VIVIFIED AND HAS VOWED TO VANQUISH THESE VENAL AND VIRULENT VERMIN VANGAURDING VICE AND VOUCHSAFING THE VIOLENTLY VICIOUS AND VORACIOUS VIOLATION OF VOLITION! THE ONLY VERDICT IS VENGEANCE; A VENDETTA HELD AS A VOTIVE, NOT IN VAIN, FOR THE VALUE AND VERACITY OF SUCH SHALL ONE DAY VINDICATE THE VIGILANT AND VIRTUOUS. - v, v for vendetta

Hey there! I've changed my username!
      Old username: glittermousebb
      Member Number: 10
      New Username:NCC-1701

Most likely temporary, so if there is a delay in changing the front it probably won't matter. Then again I don't know yet, I might just keep it. Right now I'm just indulging my inner nerd. I’ll give a cookie to those who get it. ^.^
