Braken ran towards Mist. "What?" He said confusedly

"Braken, we're having pups!" Mist cried happily, nuzzling her mate. She was the happiest she had ever been in her life, and wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible. "I'm so excited," Mist whispered to Braken.

Braken yipped with joy and nuzzled his mate back. His heart soared with happiness. They were having PUPS!!!

Mist looked at her mate and said, "I wonder how many pups we'll have... I wish for three!"

"Three is a great number" Braken said, happily nuzzling Mist.

Ice trotted away from the kill pile after dropping her small deer there and relocated to the far end of the clearing with a large rabbit in her jaws.

Mist smiled, glad to know Braken thought three pups was perfect, too. She also hoped there was at least one female in the litter, as she heard male pups could be a big handful.

Braken trotted to the fresh kill pile and saw a deer I wonder who caught that He thought and picked a rabbit and a large squirrel. He dropped the rabbit at Mist's feet. "Here you go madam" He said with a shaky bow.

"Thank you, 'sir'," Mist said jokingly. "Would you like some too?" Mist looked down at the prey Braken had given her. The rabbit was huge and plump; she wasn't sure if she could eat it all by herself.
