Maximum Ride Roleplay

Storm's ears perked up as he heard Ren say he could stay. He could have sworn that he was literally glowing with excitement. As he ran over to thank Ren, he was gone, disappeared in the trees. He looked up to Jinx with Hiro, he was now beaming with happiness!

Athena didn't like the thought of an Eraser staying with the flock. She wasn't going to sleep a blink till he was gone, or finally made it to his expiration date.

Hiro sighed as Jinx inevitably picked him up, nodding in response to her statement. The winds around him had died down a bit, but when she picked him up they flared back up again, due to his arms being jostled around. He was almost getting used to the pain, actually, but moving around probably wasn't the best thing for him right now.

Riley eventually got her foot caught on a giant root and went flying. She didn't bother putting her wings out for balance, it wouldn't help anyway. They wouldn't come out. After stumbling forward a few feet, she fell hard on her left shoulder, causing her to cry out in pain. G... damn! She thought, her teeth clenched as she slowly made her way to her feet again. "G-gotta get back with the others..." She breathed, clutching her shoulder as she stumbled along. After a while, she began calling out into the night. "Hello?! Ren! Jinx! Anyone! Please, help me!" Her loud, cracked voice rang out in the crisp, silent atmosphere. A tear ran down her cheek as she continued wailing and calling out as she stumbled along, hoping someone would hear.

It bothered me that whatever bond I'd originally had with Hiro seemed to have been severed. I felt more tolerated than wanted at the moment but I couldn't cry about it now. I had more pressing matters to attend to. I let my voice become all business again as I addressed our little group. "Storm, try to keep up. Athena, we're going back to the cave so get flying. Hiro, keep that freaking wind to a minimum because flying at this point is already a hassle." Nodding to each of them, I was about to take off until my sensitive ears heard a painfully familiar voice. "Riley. Her name came as a whisper and I found myself frozen in shock, completely unable to move or register the possibility of her having escaped.

Riley kept screaming and calling until her throat was raw. She eventually just collapsed under a tree, leaned up against the trunk, her face screwed up in pain. No one's gonna come. They probably don't even miss you. She told herself in her head, bringing what moisture there was left in her body to her eyes. For the first time, like in her life, she tucked her knees into her chest, put her arms around her chest, sat her head on her knees; and wept.

"I can't help it, my arms..." he trailed off as he heard Riley's voice as well. He turned his head to where he'd heard it come from, seeing a minuscule figure moving about. Could it really be her? Did she escape from the School? He found himself coming up with scenarios as to how she could've gotten out without anyone noticing, but he didn't think any of them were true.

Storm as so happy, he couldn't cair about anything elce in the world. She shock and fear ran down his spice as his k-9 hearing picked up an all too familiar voice call for help. "It's Riley." He said aloud the flock. "Jinx I think it would be best if you went and got her and explained things to her before she sees me." He said shaimfully.

Still unable to believe it I stumbled forward into the trees without another word and almost dropped Hiro in the process. Right now, the wind was the least of my worries. As I approached her sobbing figure I set Hiro down and pulled her into a gentle hug. "YOU IDIOT! DO YOU KNOW HOW UNBELIVABLY WORRIED THIS FLOCK HAD BEEN! Don't you ever do that to us ever again. By the way, we're taking home an Eraser so don't freak out but OH MY GOD WE MISSED YOU!"

Riley didn't hear anything that Jinx said, only winced when she was hugged. "Owowowowowowoowowowowowoow. Ow. OW JINX. Injured. Dude. Gentle hugs hurt." She protested, then quickly wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. "Where are the ot-" The part about an Eraser just registered in her mind. "WHAT?!?!?!?!? AW F*CK NO I AM NOT COMING HOME WHEN THERE IS A MOTHER F*CKING ERASER! DO YOU SERIOUSLY EXPECT ME TO DEAL WITH THAT RIGHT NOW!?!" She shrieked, impudent rage overflowing her previous grief and pain. She didn't care how hurt she was, this would not be tolerated.

My anger instantly flared up in response as I responded to her with some unbelievably vulgar phrases that I myself didn't even know the meaning to. After calming down I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. "Look, it's already been decided and we can't even go home just yet so shut your mouth. This isn't the Riley show in which everything must happen according to you. That's my thing. You are going to come back with us and you will be fed and patched up because after everything we went through to try and save your sorry butt, I WILL NOT PUT UP WITH ANYMORE BULLCRAP. AM I UNDERSTOOD?!" I was tired and in pain and I wanted nothing more than to get some rest. The least she could have done was smiled or attempt to return the favor but I was fed up with everything and the old Jinx was most definitely back.
