Maximum Ride Roleplay

Athena was surprised when Fang yanked her back and took on the Eraser. She wanted to help her take it down but other Erasers were in her way.

Storm played along in the mock fight. "The one, whose neck you just broke, called me out here!" He snapped at her. Now half morphing to make the fight look more realistic. "What are you doing here?!"

Hearing an all too familiar scream, my heart sank as I looked over and saw Hiro in the grasp of an Eraser. Just as I was about to go after him, the weirdest thing happened. It looked as if the wind were actually bending to his will and only blowing where he was. Knowing that if I left Storm unscathed we'd be discovered I turned away from the strange scene and continued with the mock fight. If Hiro called for me, I would no doubt come running but for now, it seemed as if he'd be fine. As I looked upon Storm's half morphed form, I snarled to make sure it looked as if we were really fighting before replying. "I have to save Riley and Knight!"

"I know- wait, Knight? Experiment 564448 isn't in our captivity." Storm was a little confused by this. If the flock member was by himself in the school, no doubt he would be in the grasp of a whitecoat or Eraser in a mater of minutes.

Athena heard Hiro and turned in his direction just in time to witness his new power in action.

"Well he's here somewhere and so is Riley!" Huffing in slight frustration I pushed him further away from the fight until we were no longer in sight. There weren't too many Erasers so Hiro, Athena, and Ren would be fine for a while. Sighing I ran my fingers through my hair and groaned.

Hiro's screams didn't cease and neither did the wind. His arms were bent so far behind his back he could easily have wrapped his hands around his head. He felt something snap and his right arm went dead. If he were under different circumstances, he could've just opened his wings and fled, but that wasn't the case since his back was pressed firmly against the Eraser's chest, his feet hanging a foot above the ground. He couldn't stand it anymore, he had to call for help or else he was going to lose both his arms! "Fang! Jinx! Aaahhh!" he screamed, darkness dancing around the edges of his vision. He couldn't last much longer like this, he'd pass out soon and he knew it.

Storm stopped fighting and morphed back to his human form, feeling kind of like the Hulk. "Well I haven't heard anything about him, and Experi- Riley is still locked up, so he must still be in there searching for her."

Athena's attention turned to Hiro and she ran towards him, to get that Eraser off of him. "GET OFF OF HIM YOU [blank]!" she shouter as the ran.

Time seemed to stop as the one thing I didn't want to hear rang through my ears like the mocking laugh of a scientist. My blood ran cold and my body shook with raw fury. Someone was going to die in he next few seconds. I left Storm's side immediately and ran towards Hiro's voice more afraid than I'd ever been in my life. Even though Athena was going to save him, I refused to let her because he was my responsibility and I promised to keep him safe. When I saw the position he was in, an inhuman growl tore it's way from my throat and within seconds the Eraser that held him was on the ground dead with blood pooling around his body rapidly. As gently as I could manage, I scooped Hiro up and few into the highest branches of a tree with tears streaming down my face. "I'm so, so sorry baby. I didn't mean for you to get hurt. I should have forced you to go home! Why don't you ever just listen and do as you're told?!"

Storm watched as Jinx killed yet another member of his family. He saw where they flew up to and he climbed the tree after them. He rested on a lower branch and saw the boys contorted arm. "Is there any way I can help?"

Hiro heard Athena coming to get him and began struggling, kicking and flailing with all that was left of his strength, which was, admittedly, not much at all. When Jinx came and saved him his body stayed rigid, stiff with shock. His arm was hanging numbly below him, and the wind around him was still raging. I guess that's the one for pain, he thought, his mind completely detached from his body, apart from the intense pain flickering in his left arm and upper back. He heard her words as if from a distance and shook his head softly. "N-no...g-gotta get R-Riley..."

The moment I saw Storm I growled and bared my fangs at him without thinking. Right now, he was just another Eraser. The same thing that had hurt Hiro. In my state of distress, I wasn't able to register who Storm really was and went off of pure instinct. As I glared at him, my eyes became cat-like slits for a moment and returned back to normal once I looked at Hiro again. "You're not going anywhere. I know you want to help save her but if I lost you in the process...I'd-" Choking back a sob I buried my nose in his neck and cried. No matter how it was looked at, I'd failed to keep him safe and I would never forgive myself for doing so.
