The Wyrm Hound, a species fitful of the genus : draconic. Due to the strange, and odd workings of the Wyrm hound, we had to enforce the long-lost genus, draconic. The Wyrm hound is all reptile, don't be fooled about the faulty name, hound, in it's title. They are a reptile, through and through. a slither tongue for scenting, two small nostrils, and scales. A few hint-notes are theat they actually... have such miniscule scales, that it is more of a leathery skin to the touch. These scales mostly lack pigment... but some patches gain color through the few spices in the genetic pool. They take on reptilian patterns, mammalian patterns, even some fish markings in their splotches of color. Due to the over-load of the lack of pigment, all of this species, seem to be mainly white. They're eyes vary, and are actually the most strongly defined of all. the eyes are simple, with a iris-ring. It is strange... but all Wyrm hounds have a ring about the iris.
Wyrm hounds, like the famous 'Jesus' Lizard, can run on water. Hollow-boned and quick-footed, this species can race across water. They are the largest reptiles, ranging from the size of a alligator's length, and as high as a large dog, to a medium dog, as a minimum(except with rare pigmy Wyrm hounds, which are almost all white, with barely a spot or few of color, and are half the size). They have long ears... which baffled most scientists. They both feel vibrations through their pads like reptiles, but also listen intently. They make a huffing sound, and yelps, and the most strange part is, they have a smooth purr. Baffling, isn't it?
You see that collar-like membrane about the neck? Well, that is a cypher. It takes in the air, and gives the Wyrm hound air to breath. It works in both water, and raw air. It's... kinda like a gill. Don't worry, it closes up, but when the animal needs t take in a lot of air, the cypher unfolds, and draws in. This happens during running, swimming, or when the animal is incapable of breathing through it's two front nostrils. It never uses this when trying t be quiet, because of the humming sound it makes. Yes, a hum. Like when you breath in, that breath emits a sound... this hum is almost inaudible to us, but to a Wyrm hound, it is noticeable. They try to keep their cyphers closed during hunting or playing.
Wyrm hounds can have many things on them, some have-
