My eyebrows shot up in surprise, and I looked at Boots, bewildered. Um...okay, I thought, rubbing the back of my neck. Tell them I said it's nice to meet them. I can't talk, sorry.

I shrugged, then smiled, absently reaching up and touching one of my lip rings, like I did when I was a bit nervous. Where are you going? I asked in my head, glancing at Boots to see if she heard. I fiddled my fingers back and forth, watching the small bits of darkness that began to spark and form there.

"Oh, I can hear you," Boots giggled, then turned to Sabrina.
"He wants to know where we're going," We can trust him, she told her.
