For a moment I thought about his little slip up wondering what he was about to say but as he pulled my arm I snapped back into reality. "Hang on." Even though Hiro was a fast flyer, his young age and smaller wings would make it hard for him to keep up especially since I was about to push myself harder than I ever have. I wrapped my arms around him and took off wanting to catch up to Ren and Athena. Once we did, I'd let him fly own his own but for now, I couldn't risk not making it in time. The wind whipped around me so fast and stung my face hard enough to bring tears to my eyes. Adrenaline made it that much easier to fly at such speeds and my heart raced faster and faster with each passing second.

Ren heard Jinx coming, and felt a little more safe. since they where little, he had learned each flock member's flying pattern and the feel of their wingbeats. He let Athena take lead and fell back next to Fang.

Athena saw as Ren fell back to Fang, and left her to lead. She had never lead on her own before but she , sadly, knew exactly where the School was so leading wouldn't be a problem for her this time.

Once I was flying next to Ren again, I thought about letting Hiro go but decided to hold onto him just a little but longer. Holding the small boy was much more comforting than I'd let on. "Ren, I'm going to kill you. I'm going to kill you and then I will bring you back to life so that I can kill you again. Don't you ever just take off on me like that. Do you know how scary that is? Athena I can trust to not do anything stupid but you, I don't trust at all."

Ren looked down, not seeming effected by her threats of murder. "I've done some pretty stupid things." He admitted, looking at the little Hiro in her arms.

"When this is over I'm beating you into a bloody pulp." My words were harsh but what I actually meant was, 'I'm so happy that you're still safe.' Being all soft and sweet wasn't in my nature so more often than not, I'd say something mean in place of something nice.

Hiro tried to get away, but after a few moments of struggling he knew it was futile. He just stayed there in her arms with a grumpy face on, trying to be as much dead weight as possible so she'd let him go. He wasn't interested in their conversation in the slightest, all he wanted was to stay back and watch for threats. That was the whole reason he stayed distant while flying, though he'd never say it aloud.

I finally looked at Hiro who did not look very happy at all which elicited a giggle from me. "You are just too cute." It was obvious that he wanted to be let go so I kissed his cheek and released him from my hold. He liked to do his own thing when we all flew together and his watchful eyes had saved us plenty of times in the past so I saw no reason to stop him.

Athena saw Fang let Hiro go. "You want to fly up here and lead with me , Hiro?" She called.

Hiro shook his head a few times, looking at Athena, then he fell back into his usual position, gliding for a while on a strong air current. Though his face didn't show it, he was in pure heaven being able to fly. He cast his eyes down to the ground, already far below them. He didn't see anything out of the ordinary, so he let himself relax and just enjoy the wind running through his...wait a second. He didn't feel any wind anymore, even though there had to be some. He realised his hair wasn't moving either, and the same with his clothes. Just as a test, he folded in his wings, letting himself drop a bit, then unfurling them once again. Even when he was falling, it still didn't seem like there was any wind. How weird.
