Ren just smiled lightly and propped himself up on his elbows. "Aww, you do care." He joked and let her look at his side. "Really, Jinx, I'm fine." He was one of the only people that had the nerve to call her by her real name.

Feeling slightly frantic I lifted his shirt and took a closer look. Upon seeing that the wound was actually healing quite nicely I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. "Of course I care! God you're stupid! If you ever do that again I'm going to kill you."

He nodded and looked at the ground like he was guilty. "Yes, ma'am." Ren said quietly. A light smile played in his face. The teen folded his wings neatly and ran his hand through his hair.

Without warning I threw my arms around him and sighed. "I'm sorry. I just, I can't risk loosing anyone." Before, I had been only slightly protective when it came to the flock but now, I was like a she-wolf defending her pups. I would do anything to keep everyone safe.

Ren was surprised when she got all soft. He lightly put his arm around her and rested his chin on the top of her head. "I know." He murmured. "With Riley gone, it's hard not to think about your flock getting taken away."

Sighing softly I relaxed, taking comfort in the fact that he was with me and that he understood how I felt. "Yeah." Even though I'd never say it, I was scared. The thought of loosing anyone else made me want to just curl up and cry.

He could tell she was upset and held her close. Ren hated it when his flock wasn't happy, and he always felt protective over them. Maybe that's how Fang felt with Hiro.

Athena walked to the cave entrance and watched the flock. She saw Hiro make a hole in a cloud, Ren and Fang plummet to the Earth (but they seemed okay), and Knight... Where was Knight? Athena scanned the sky back and forth searching for him but couldn't find him. She began to panic and jumped off the cliff into the air and raced towards Ren and Fang. "KNIGHT IS MISSING!" She called to them still searching the sky for any signs of him.

Even though I wanted our little moment to last a bit longer I sighed and stood but not before kissing his cheek. Without another word I shot off into the sky and flew next to Athena. "What do you mean he's missing?!"

"I searched throught the entire sky, and he is no where to be found! He is not here!" Ahtena said, more panicked now. 2 flock members missing...not good.
