I've never really done the whole "buying and wearing cosplay makeup" thing before, though I have heard a ton of stuff about how everyone uses Ben Nye brand or something along those lines. But it does appear to be an oil based paint. I did find this instead, which looks a bit safer, and people say is better because it doesn't flake off as easily. But don't just go off of what I say, I'm just the noob here. Link below.

if we're still on the topic of "which homestuck are you?" I think I'd be most like Tavros, John, and Aradia. Tavros because I'm usually the weakest of the group, I am sometimes self-conscious and I love animals. John because I'm usually pretty opmistic, I like to play pranks on people, and I am pretty nerdy sometimes.
And Aradia because.. well, we do share the same personality traits and we pretty much have the same hair, except mine's not black. xD I totally didn't pick her because I'm an Aries

Well, I remember this on person that I met that does face-painting recommended Snazaroo body paint, and a lot of people use Crayola Model Magic for horns.

For the body paint I use Snazaroo. It can be washed off just with water and comes in the 'troll gray', unlike Ben Nye, which you have to mix to get the colour right. For painting horns I used acrylic paint and for sculpting, I used the czech equvalent of Model Magic. I have a Nepeta cosplay myself, and I painted the shirt wiwth olive acrylic paint. For the tail you could make the skeleton out of wite and then wrap foam around it, glue, let it dry and then glue or sew blue fur onto it. That's how I did mine, or you can simply get a square meter of blue fur and just roll and glue it together. For the hat - you can either buy a blue one from a clothe store and then use white acrylic paint for mouth and eyes and then just cut out the holes for horns. For the coat, I just found one in a store. Hope that helps! uwu
