Maximum Ride Roleplay

I know this sounds kinda weird, but I have a secret plan. Just play along ;D]

The longer Jinx was gone, the colder Hiro got, until he felt like he was going to freeze to death. He got up and moved a bit more toward the fire, but as he got closer to it it started dying down, until it was just a small flame with embers surrounding it. As he backed away from it, it steadily grew back to it's original size. He knew what it felt like to be unneeded, as everyone there did, but unwanted was different, and it felt like warmth just didn't want him right now, though he desperately needed it. Solemnly, he went back into his corner and curled up there, ignoring the now cold bag of food lying mere feet away from him. He lay on his side silently, facing the corner so all that the others could see of him was the back of his plaid shirt and his running shoes.

After reminiscing and wallowing in nostalgia I finally reentered the cave and sat down in the same spot I had previously occupied. For whatever reason, everyone seemed to be cold but I was fine. In fact, it was a bit hot in my opinion but I shrugged it off thinking that I was just being much too observant.

Ren saw Hiro and frowned, getting up unsteadily to his feet and limping over, the climate freezing. "Hey, Hiro, you alright?" He asked softly.

Athena finished scarfing down her food and then began to feel a little cold, but she brushed it off and scooched a little closer to the fire, which did nothing. She looked up as Fang reentered the cave and sat down.

[tavros.]

Hiro stayed as he was, his arms crossed over his chest, legs curled up on top of that, facing the dark wall. "Where is she?" he asked, but it sounded more like a statement than a question. "Where'd she go?"

Ren frowned and kneeled down beside the little boy. "Jinx? She's right here." He looked over his shoulder. "Fang, come here!" He called, then looked worriedly back at Hiro.

When my name was called I blinked and tilted my head slightly in confusion but complied with his wishes anyway. Upon seeing Hiro I started having a mental panic attack and began looking him over trying to figure out what was wrong. "What's going on?"

Hiro looked up, seeing Jinx looking so concerned for him, and the air around him gradually got warmer--not so fast that it would burn, but at a comfortable speed--until it was the same temperature it had been before she had left. He threw his arms around her, burying his face in her neck. It was only when he heard himself sob that he realised he was crying.

I didn't ask any questions nor did I freak out. All I did was pull him closer and sit down allowing him to cry as much as he needed to. He'd never been very emotional and I could count on one hand the amount of times I'd seen him shed a tear. The fact that he was truly crying made me want to cry as well. To watch such a strong child break the way he'd just done before my very eyes made my blood run cold.
