terra nova. it means "new land" in latin. its ironic, because its not new; its as old as can be,
one of the oldest peaces of land in the world. but its new as in the idea of nature once again.
because lets face it. these people havent seen a blue sky or white cloud in centuries. terra
nova is a gated colony in a wide, vast field in the middle of hundreds of mile long forest and
jungle. mountains are plentiful, beautiful. a wide dirt road leads up to terra nova and inside,
are cabins for housing, an old fashioned, 1700's style marketplace. there is electricity and
tecnology from 2149, but the living situation is much, much different. everyone is like family,
everyone contriputes their own to the colony, and there is no such thing as danger from the
source of another human within the colony. there is peace amongst them. every few years, a
pilgrimage of new members to terra nova comes to settle and they join right in with the rest.
the only dangers are dinosaurs and sixers. dinosaurs are standard; they are meat eating creatures
and well, humans are meat. but as long as you follow the colony's rules about staying inside the
gates at all times, you are pretty much safe. as for the sixers, they are a group of humans that
came in from the sixth pilgrimage. because the colony of terra nova was resisting against the
original plan of using the portal and the discovery of the new land for more resources, they sent
and assigned a group of people to kill the leader of terra nova, nathanial taylor, take over the
colony, and hold it until the portal can go both ways. they are a consistant threat. from
ambushing the soldiers of terra nova on border patrols or driving right up to their gates declaring
war, they've done it all. the scariest thing though is they've managed to manipulate natives of
terra nova into being their spies by holding something over them, forcing them to do it and forcing
them to take part in killing their family and killing their home and killing their second chance.

the time centry of 2149 is a time of dispare. everything is electronic. the air is so filthy
there are no clouds in the sky, no blue either. its all a dark, dirt colored blanket the
humans are living under. you need an air mask to breathe just to walk outside and get
on the train for work. the world is so overpopulated there is a limit to four per family,
otherwise the rest are killed off, in order to prevent overpopulation and extinction. the
world is run by government and its no longer a republic. the world is dying.
but there is a place of second chance. terra nova. a land back in the time of the dinosaurs.
curious, right? the government has made a portal to the past, sending those useful
enough to the colony to stay and live there, finding a second chance in a better world. or
so thats what they say. really, they are in the process of making the portal go both ways so
that they can take the land's resources, ship them back to 2149, and use them. control the
past, control the future, right? but for now the portal just goes one way, and the colony is
refusing to go with the government's plan. they are resisting and striving for that second
chance. but for now life is good. the eleventh pilgrimage has just arrived. with the help of
those who've traveled to terra nova on past pilgrimages, they will find their second chance.
