Skylark sighed as she laid down. Lately, the she cat had been pretending she didn't care where Loudstep went or why, but really she cared deeply. Would he ever come back? The she cat wondered. The she cat laid down in her moss bed to close her eyes. Other cats shared their moss beds with another cat. That cat was their mate. Would Skylark ever get a mate? The she cat closed her eyes gently as she slowly drifted to sleep. In her sleep she had a dream, and in that dream she was in camp.

Pistachio flicked his ears as she stared at the necklace strangely. "I'm pretty sure you wear it around your neck, well atleast that's what my human. I mean twoleg did. If anyone asks where you got it maybe you could tell them you found it? Only you and I would know that I gave it to you. Oh, and Sprucepaw? I have to tell you something, but do you promise not to be mad at me when I tell you?"

Loudstep opened his eyes, turning his ginger head head. He was in front of camp, but he was no where near camp when he'd fallen asleep. He was certainly dreaming. He pushed his way through the camp entrance and into camp. He half expected to see all of his Clanmates bombard him and ask him questions, and get yelled at. Instead, he saw Skylark. His heart lept for joy as seeing her again but quickly sank as he remembered how angry she had been with him when he left on his journey. He had stared at her for a long time, but looked away now, concerned she would yell at him. He missed her. A lot.

Skylark twitched her ears as she got up. The she cat looked around, but didn't notice Loudstep. The she cat's belly rumbled. The she cat had been wondering if she would ever get a mate. A few days ago she had a dream of herself smiling with another cat, but couldn't identify the cat which was indeed a tom.

"S-skylark?" Loudstep mewed uncertainly, taking a step nearer to her. He noticed the way his voice made this weird echo-y sound as he spoke, but he dismissed it. His amber eyes darted to her again, concern and hope mingling together in his gaze as he came slowly p to her.

Skylark pricked her ears hearing a familiar voice. Loudstep? " What? Your back? Where have you been? I think some cats were beginning to believe I was in on your plan to run away, too."

Loudstep shook his head. "No. I'm still in the forest, asleep somewhere near the river. Frostwing and Lightpaw are too, but I can't come home for a long time. StarClan have asked me to do this. I'm sorry." he mewed to her, voice saddened, "I miss you, Skylark." He longed to feel her at his side again, and he felt lonely tears wheling in his eyes, and he couldn't blink them away.

Skylark lashed her tail and narrowed her eyes as she heard Loudstep's words. "Then has our medicine cat got any proof that starclan asked you to go there? Why did you go with Frostwing and Lightpaw?" The she cat asked, feeling a prick of jealousy.

"As far as we know, it was only us. My sister came to me in a dream, and two other cats that I assume we're close to the other two came as well. We followed them a long the river. I wanted to tell you, but you didn't listen. I'm so sorry, Skylark. You-you mean so much to me, you're my best friend." Loudstep mewed, looking at his white paws, truth sparking in his words, "I miss you, so much Skylark." He was hoping she'd catch his hint an go along the river and find them, and come with them, but he didn't really see that happening. His tail fell to the ground, saddened deeply.

She gave a slight nod, not sure if she had the courage to draw attention to herself like that by wearing it in camp. But she did know that she'd value it, after all, Pistachio had honestly given it to her and for that she was very pleased with. She looked up at him, teal eyes glimmering. "Of course!" she mewed shyly, swishing her thick tail. "I won't be mad at you." she added even softer, knowing it was true--no matter what he had to say.
