Hullo, and welcome to the Collaborative Writers' Club, which I suppose you could shorten to CWC if you're either a fan of acronyms, or aren't predisposed to typing out its entire name if ever you find yourself in a situation where you're inclined to do so. Anyways, this club exists to, as its name may suggest, aid and encourage collaboration amongst writers! Whether this involves finding a partner or two for the actual joint creation of a literary work, simply finding a sounding board for your ideas, or someone to encourage you to persevere even through the darkest throes of writer's block, this is the place for you! Really -it's our sole purpose. Think of it as a sort of matchmaking for writers, though bereft of any romantic element. Just toss in various elements of support group sessions, helplines, and counselling, stir rapidly, bake for 7 and a half minutes at 350ºF, and allow to cool for half an hour. Then, ease it gently from the pan, and admire your handiwork because I don't suggest eating it. Conceptualizations and their kin don't usually fall under the heading of edible; unless, of course, you are yourself some sort of impalpable entity that feeds on the intangible. Which would be cool.
But, I digress.
So, to reiterate, this club is open to writers of all forms of literature -novels, short stories, poems, songs, essays, articles, and so forth- to allow them the chance to rub shoulders with their fellows. Because, writing is often construed in the collective consciousness as an entirely solitary activity. Lock yourself up in a room for a week with nothing but coffee and crisps to sustain yourself, and you are a writer. Take long, lonely walks, buy a cottage in the northernmost regions of Greenland, because solitude is beneficial to writing.
It is true that solitude is beneficial to writing -but, then again, solitude is beneficial to many more intellectual pursuits.
Loneliness, however, is not. Even writers need someone to butt heads with, someone to encourage them and drive them to greater heights. Someone to tell them, honestly, if an idea isn't working, if something sounds off, or their characters are flat and dull. Sometimes, even someone to share the entire process of storywriting with; someone to mastermind plot with, to struggle alongside, and blow, together, that spark into a flame.

◊ Stay on topic, please; this club was created for the sole purpose of talking about writing.
◊ No plagiarism. One of the greatest reasons why most writers keep to themselves about their works is the fear of theft of their creative material. If I get wind of plagiarism from anyone, I will take drastic action. This is a safe zone for writers, where they should feel free to share and bounce around ideas.
◊ Wait for your acceptance before posting! As well, peevishness at your decline isn't nice, either -there are very few reasons why we would decline you, and I promise that they are all legitimate.
◊ Listen to, and respect, the mods. (Once we have some.)
◊ If you wish to take part in a solely one-on-one discussion with a single partner, please take it to PM! Group discussions here are fine, as is the search for a partner.
◊ Do not spam this thread with requests for a writing partner. The limit to posting a request form is once per page.
◊ If you have any concerns, have found a history of plagiarism, or have witnessed the breaking of another rule by a member, I ask that you please report it to me or another moderator instead of taking it into your own hands. Vigilantes tend to end up as rule-breakers, as well.
