I can forgive most changes he makes. He kept Baron the Bear and that makes me happy. Anything else can be forgiven as long as Smaug talks.

Also, Smaug is horribly animated, or whatever they did in my opinion. With all the technology they have, they could have made him look better than a puppet!

I am worried that they might not even have it. Its a huge part of the book, so I am hoping he kept it. But it isn't enough to make me walk out of the movie.

I thought he looked pretty good. If you think back to years ago he really would have (And did) look like a puppet. I am hoping he looks better in the movies, and remember, we did only see his head.

The spider stuff is my favourite part of the hobbit. It was the chapter that I always asked my mum to go back and re read when I was a kid.
But with the hobbit becoming three movies, there is less chance of it being cut out completely and i think there was a glimpse of that part in the trailer.

Indeed, it's insanely hard and takes quite a while to animate something that doesn't even exist, and make it look like it's real.

Take the HP movies for example, so much of that stuff is animated it's rediculous.

Yeah, the spider climbed on the tree behind Bilbo. The spider part was my favorite part too, I have been trying to find extra time before computer time to read the Hobbit again.

He better have the spider poems in-that is one of the best parts of the book!

(And i have the rhyming spider taunts memorized-I'm guessing most of us do though.)
