"I beg to differ." Now that I was done with all of the plucking I took a moment to just stroke his feathers. "The way they glint in the moonlight, reflecting so many different colors like a rainbow without ever changing in the slightest. Such a simple yet beautiful color full of depth and untold secrets. You know, ravens play important parts in many legends as well as their feathers." Sighing wistfully I continued running my fingers through his inky black feathers in a rare moment of civil and almost affectionate behavior.

Ren blushed softly, and a warm tingling spread over his shoulders. He swore little zaps of electricity sparked where he fingers touched his wings. "Really?" He murmered quietly. Ren never learned about legends, nor thought about his wings. "I never really thought of it that way."

"Yeah well, I've had plenty of time to read up on some stuff." Shrugging I finally pulled my hands away from his soft feathers and wrapped them around Hiro. My wings fluttered slightly trying to shake out random leaves and little sticks that lodged themselves between my feathers. I could feel the now dry blood that matted little downy feathers and I ran my fingers through my hair with a huff. I did not feel like messing with my own wings at the moment but I'd have to eventually. After all, I liked to practice what I preached so my wings needed to be taken care of.

ren winced when he saw her wings and gently started to preen one. "Yelling at me to keep my wings neat." He murmured, pulling out a leaf.

"Whatever, I was going to do it myself so bite me." Pouting slightly I relaxed and allowed him to continue without much protest. Even though I'd never admit it, I loved having my wings cared for by others so long as they didn't just go yanking my feathers out.

He stayed quiet and gingerly took twigs out of her feathers and brushed off dust, running his hand along her wing. Ren looked up at her, then back down. He had dark circles under his eyes, and needed to sleep, but he wanted it finish first.

Unable to help myself, I let out a soft purr. It was one of the weirder abilities that I'd gained aside from the fangs. Why a scientist would want a flying cat child was beyond me and to be honest I didn't care to know. I simply accepted it and took all of the weirdness in stride. I could see how tired he was and I wanted to make him stop but I had a feeling that he'd just wave me off and continue anyway. He was just stubborn that way and letting him do as he pleased would be much easier.

Ren heard her purr and cracked a smile. Soon he was done with both wings, and he looked up at her. The teen reached up and untangled a broken feather from her hair, then placed it down in the ground. "Better." He said and pulled his legs up to his chest.

Athena slowly woke up as she heard more chatter again from Fang and Ren. She looked up at them not trying to pretend she saw asleep this time.

Storm Slunk down the halls of the School slowly advancing to the room of experiments. He wanted to check on Riley and make sure she was okay.
