Here I, your humble servant Flare, have been given the noble charge of distributing the joy of Faerie Lytes throughout the world of Chicken Smoothie. I am so pleased to be able to serve you!
You: What are Faerie Lytes???
Flare: Oh! Silly me! Of course you want to know a little more about our wares...
Well, I am a Faerie Lyte myself. But to explain exactly what I and my siblings are, I will have to explain a little Faerie history. You see, once a very long time ago, when humans had first walked the earth and magic was much more prevalent than it is now, children had nothing to laugh about. Then, one day, one child watched its sibling stumble accidently into a pond. The watching child's face slowly transformed from emotionless to a smile and then when he opened his mouth a peal of beautiful, joyous laughter vibrated into the new earth's atmosphere for the first time!
Well! The air was also vibrating with magic that had yet to be used and that magic just didn't know what to do with the intoxicating laughter. Flowers started sprouting every which way and bloomed almost instantly! This made the child giggle even louder, to be joined by his sibling. And as the flowers bloomed, in their center small little glowing people appeared! They were the first faeries, created from the first laughter of children.
How does this connect to Faerie Lytes? Well just listen...
Now, because they were created with magic, Faeries are naturally magical creatures. And because they were also created from laughter, then their own giggles are particularly magical. Whenever a faerie laughs, their giggle creates a new life: a Faerie Lyte life. We are the product of the joy of Faeries! Isn't that just amazing?!
You: Um... ok, great, now I know where you came from, but what are you?
Flare:*sighs* Well, I guess you could say we are the embodiment of a Faerie's joy. Physically we are most often just tiny bodies of bright light that emits a funny little tickly happy feeling. As long as you're within twenty feet of a Faerie Lyte, you feel happy. If you're super close you might just find yourself giggling for no apparent reason. You see, that's why we're trying to spread the faerie lytes around: to spread joy and laughter!
You: Oh! Cool! So I just take one, then?
Flare: Well... sort of. We'll set out a bunch of different faeries and you can claim one by filling out a little form on their adoption page!
You: And that's it? No offense Flit, or Flare or whatever, but...
Flare: *interrupts with an irritable chitter* My name is Flare and that most certainly is not "it"! I mean, if all's you want is a pretty colored light in a jar that makes you happy, then yes it is. But there are other things you can do with your Lyte.
For instance, if you pay a small fee, Pixie will break the spell that holds the Faerie Lyte to your jar! Once it is free, it will not run away but one or two things might happen. Firstly, your Lyte will be able to relax now that it is free and may actually form into a shape! That shape could be any animal! It will be a vague shape, but still, its fun to watch them transform. It is possible to for a Lyte to form in a jar, but you must work very hard and interact with it in a positive way for it to form. Positive interactions always help a Lyte to calm down and relax into its form.
The other thing that could happen is that it will attract more Faerie Lytes! The more Faerie Lytes in one place, the more that will be attracted! but these friends could possibly run away... Don't worry, your little friend won't go with them, but if you want to make sure the others stay, you'll have to pay another small fee for an ensnaring spell from Pixie.
You: Oh, well huh! Whaddaya know? That's pretty darn interesting... Well maybe I'll check these pretty little lights out after all. Thanks Flare!

Our staff include the creator/founder of the Faerie Lytes Corner shop as well as a couple other very competent staff. We are not hiring any others at this time but I will post an announcement below should a position become available.

My duties include providing wild Faerie Lytes (at most four a week), facilitating their interaction with their owners, and updating them. I must create customs to customers' satisfaction, facilitate custom Lytes' interaction with their owners, and update them as I would a wild Lyte's page. I must also archive owners and their Faerie Lytes and keep track of all new information concerning them. Finally, I must keep an eye on all threads, monitoring them to make sure they are following CS and Faerie Lyte rules.

The Secratary's duties would include monitoring conversations held on the thread to make sure they are following CS and Faerie Lyte rules, making sure that Lytes are not neglected by their artists, and reminding the Creator/Founder of anything she may have missed/forgotten.
