That would be me in that situation, which is why I liked her so much, I guess. She was somewhat-relate-able in a rather unrelate-able story. I was very upset when she died. My favourite characters always seem to die. In fact, by the end of Mockingjay, the only character I still liked was Prim's cat!
Haha, I feel you. We were forced to read THG for my preAP English II class (never forgave the teacher for that) and when my friends and I discussed who we would be, I always got Foxface. Looking back she totally should have won; Collins found a really lame way to kill her off and rooked her on giving her massive intelligence and zero kills.

But it seemed like she just threw it together to please the fans; it wasn't how she wanted it written. That's what it seemed to me at least.
The only problem with that theory is that literally everyone hated the ending.
I think she wanted to try and make some big emotional impact about sacrifice and hardship and overcoming tragedy etc.
It didn't do it for me.

I agree. It was a very lame way to kill her off. And I also really do agree that she should have won. I also agree that way too many characters were killed off by the end.

Okay, you have a good point. Whatever her purpose was, it didn't work. It really was a rather pathetic ending. Even the epilogue wasn't that great.

Looking for these flowers:

An annoying thing I've noticed in a lot of teen books is that the 'nice' characters are always labeled as boring. I mean, the male lead always chooses the ruder, headstrong female lead instead of the nice, boring other girl. I know everyone wants a 'feminist' main character, but a person can be nice and interesting.
Yeah. Just a pet peeve of mine >.<

I know! Being quiet, polite, and to some extent subservient, is not a bad thing. Discretion is the finer half of valor, but everyone just wants hotheaded teens that run off and do crazy stuff. I don't get it.

I agree with all of you. She started to kill people with no reason and she tried to please the fans but failed -in my opinion.

I agree with it too. I'm quiet as well and it's annoying that in books they do not seem to appreciate the value of being kind and quiet.

Top Ten Favorite Books: Oh gosh.. Let's see... Promise of the Wolves, The Sight, Fell, Firebringer, Harry Potter (all books), Game of Thrones... I also remember reading the Fire Within series awhile back - was obsessed with those. I've read quite a few other books as well, but I don't think they really matched these. Probably a lot I don't even remember, sadly.
Average amount of time it takes you to finish a book: It varies. If the book is incredibly engaging and I can't wait to read what happens next, I can read 400+ pages in a day. Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix for example took me two days to finish I believe... 896 pages. I honestly don't keep track though.
How many of the above symptoms you regularly experience: Probably all but the first one. I take a lot away from stories - words, phrases, lessons, etc., but I don't really use quotes too often.

✨ Everything I have on CS is for sale for Flightrising! Desperately looking for the familiars above. ✨
Pet trades accepted as well.
