It was a humid day, and clouds hung in the sky heavily. A light drizzle had begun to fall and cats were beginning to settle down for the night. As the last rays of the sun went below the horizon, Darkpaw had begun to eat a rabbit when he fell to the side, dead. Blood was gushing out under him, with one large cut on his stomach. Darkpaw was dead.

Frostheart smelled blood. She peaked her head out of the warriors den, and she saw Darkpaw with a fresh pool of blood surrounding him.

Nepetaclaw walked towards the fresh-kill pile, her eyes bright with happiness. She was just about to grab a vole when blood slowly staining the grass caught her sight. Her gaze followed to where the blood was coming from and she gasped. "Darkpaw! No!"

She closed her jaw and let out a sigh and walked half asleep and tripped over something and fell face first in the ground. She stood up and shook her fur and looked back to see that she tripped over Darkpaw's body "D-darkpaw"
