The cats watched in satisfaction at Rainwhisker left, sure that their problems were over. Mudstripe was going into the warriors to get some rest, only to get trampled by a larger cat. The killer glared down at Mudstripe for a moment before slashing his neck, leaving the tom to die in the warriors den and padding back to the clearing.

Hopepaw wandered up to a stick.She poked it cautiously with one forepaw. "Aha!" She exclamed, "I knew you could hide from me!" She picked up the stick in her jaws and swung it around. When she let it go it flew and hit Jayflight in the flank. Gasping she ran up and grabbed the stick "Are you sure? Are you sure sure?" She quickly sharpened her face on the stick. "It was you Jayflght! Sticks don't lie!!"
