Can't you learn bass after guitar?

Is it easier to learn acoustic or electric guitar first? I want to learn guitar, hopefully lead, but I'm not sure what's a good guitar to start with >.<

Many bassists were once guitarists because basses are a slightly, er, more relaxing? xD
And I acoustics are ones you should probably start out with, that's what I've been doing, because it teaches the foundation.

I smashed my acoustic into a million pieces, and it was actually pretty awesome! I know how to play all of them... Maybe I could give you a few pointers on bass, that's the one I play best! =3 Not trying to brag, I swear. I just found a dulcimer in my closet, this old house is full of stuff that people have left here! But anyway, now I'm learning how to play that, and it's actually not that hard. There's a saying I found on facebook that goes "If you play one string instrument, you play em' all!" Good luck though on your guitar, and trying to convince your parents to do bass!

Too bad! I like a lot of those bands too... that must really suck.
