Mist saw Sam with her cubs and started trotting off towards them. "Look, Zoomee,it's Steel. Why don't you go and play with him?"
"Mother, I am four months and he is a year old." Zoomee pointed out coldly.
"Please, don't bring that up. I wish you were less like you dad." Mist hissed.

Zoomee rolled his eyes and went to play with Steel. "Hey, Steel." he greeted.

"hi there.." he said then quickly turned to his mother "it was a lynx... or maybe it was a bobcat.. i don't know but it came and asked me about the tall things"

Sam looked at Steel "are you sure it wasn' your imagination"

"certain!" Steel exclaimed

Sam looked at Zoomee "do you think that would happen?" she asked softly

"Well, we have been asking the cats for help. He must have came to make sure we weren't setting a trap." Zoomee shrugged. Mist came running over to them, "Hi, Sam!" She sat down and tried to catch her breath.

"hey mist" Sam replied "guess what happened earlier today?"

Keelie walked around the outskirts of the camp when she saw a bear trap... *there are no bears on this island...*.She sniffed the area around and scratched into a tree so she wouldn't forget where it was. She race up to her mother. "MUM MUM!" she wailed "i saw a bear trap!"

"Well, this is a nice little gathering." Zoomee yawned.

"Hmmm...." Mist thought, then she heard what Keelie said and guessed. "Keelie saw a bear trap?"

"well with Steel i would say that was his imagination, but Keelie is usually timid and all, maybe we should listen to her.." Sam said

"it was big and shiny, and it was everything you described!" she panted

"honey there aren't any bears left here" Sam pointed out

"But why would a bear trap be here in a wolf territory?" Zoomee wondered. "To get curious wolves, I guess."

Mist thought about her old mate, he was killed so suddenly and out of no where. One minute he was laughing at a joke she made, the next he was dead. "M...Maybe we should be careful..." She shivered.

"yeah..i'll go tell flash" she said.

Somewhere in the forest the crazy old coot was walking around, checking the bear traps he planted hoping there would be something in them.He walked over to the one closest to the camp, *tracks* he thought grinning, and put a piece of beef in the middle *this outta attract them*.
