Already tired and in pain I had no desire to feel any worse but the universe decided to hate me a bit more because Hiro, while small and frail looking, had a tight grip and his nails were something else entirely. Without thinking I glared down at him with my glowing blue eyes baring my fangs and let out a low growl meant only for his ears. Taking a deep breath I allowed my body to relax and kissed his forehead gently trying to atone for such a violent reaction. A sleepy Jinx was not a happy Jinx and an injured Jinx was not one to be messed with. I was somewhat glad though because as always, he was on his guard and ready to tear into someone at a moments notice.

Storm felt bad for taking her but he knew that if he returned with nothing he would be 'put-down' or worse put in a cage.

When he heard the menacing growl Hiro shrunk back a bit, staring into those glowing blue orbs with fear in his own gray ones. But soon his fear subsided and he wrapped his arms around Jinx's waist, trying to be gentle as he suspected she wouldn't react so badly if she wasn't tired or injured, or both in this case.

Riley jerked slightly in her unconscious slumber, her eyes rolling around in her head.

Sighing softly I began running my fingers through his hair letting the familiar action relax me. "What are we gonna do Hiro?" I didn't expect him to answer. I didn't expect anyone to answer. The question hung in the air silently taunting me.

Riley soon awoke in a cage, and was instantly alert. But she winced and placed a hand on her head. "Damn, a cage again." She hissed, glaring at the other experiments. "Stay away from me, and you won't die." She growled to them, then crawled over to a corner of the cage and curled up, just waiting for the torture to begin.

As expected, Hiro didn't answer verbally. He wrapped his colourful wings around himself, knowing that Jinx liked to play with his feathers, and closed his eyes, hoping for her to try to sleep as well. She didn't look too good; actually, she looked terrible, but he wasn't going to say any of that. He decided to just let her wait it out, and hopefully rest at least a little bit.
