also saying that people would overpay even more for it is not a good reason to keep it from moving up. that would restrict a lot of changes to the rares list and misses the point of the list anyway, which is to reflect what people pay for the pets, not try and make people pay less for them. right now people are willing to pay september&main lists for it so if it moves to the top of the advent list they would still be paying that

^ a little exaggerated, especially at the end, but... -cringes- CS's economy is just a little too crazy as it is, whatwith people completely missing the fact that the Rares List factors in both rarity and demand. (I've seen quite a few people say that they didn't realize that fact and thought that the Rares List was based on rarity alone, especially based on the name.)

Reflecting the market would put a huge strain on users who want to pay "fairly", and the users who are fine with paying below the "fair" value might be bothered quite a bit (I've seen plenty of users rant about how they often receive begging or unfair trades from people they previously gifted, so this isn't out of the question). It would also make it nigh impossible for any pets to move around, since low-demand pets like the speckled rats might be stuck at the bottom and would not move around, while high-demand pets that people actually want are stuck waaaaaay too high. (And it's not like it would be easy to get Sunjewels; they've got that OMGSR tag for a reason)

So with...this...very confusing...itemic list...is the BA taking an uphill climb or is he staying put with the Leopard? It doesn't bother me as I won't be trading mine any time soon (like never!), but just wondering as it has looked like each newbie that gets one raises it's already high demand just a few Nons more. o.O

The BA will be staying put with the Dark Leopard for reasons that Nickjr stated.
The farther the BA climbs up the list, the more the demand increases. And considering that the BA isn't even from September '08, it's already taken a considerable jump up the list.
So to answer your question, the BA will not be moved. The same applies for the Joker.

is it not possible to move the BA down in a purposeful attempt to lower the demand?? or would that not work/go against the point of the rares list/something like that

I believe the whole point of the rares list is to reflect pet values, if we move the BA down just to try and lower its demand that would be attempting to set the market. But I don't think it would do much, it doesn't change how much people are offering, and if they are already offering overpay as high as sorberts, I doubt moving it a few lines down will change that, and it doesn't change the fact that it in demand just just because its, well, in demand, but because people actually do like it. Thats how it got to be in demand in the first place, lowering it on the rares list won't change how many people still want it. The rares list is not supposed to be what decides how much pets are worth, what decides what the pets are worth are the trades. The rares list just takes those trades and the pets rarity and places it on the list according to what its worth.

If someone is willing to cough up a sorbert for a BA, whats wrong with that? Was there ever a time when people never overpaid for something they wanted really badly? I see nothing wrong with overpaying for a popular, highly sought-after pet. Its only through this continued overpay by many people that the BA even goes for sorbets, because its popular, not just because you can get a lot for it, because people actually like how it looks. ❖ personally i dont mind overpaying for BAs since theyre my favourite pet (i paid a GWJ for one once of my own accord oops)
but a lot of people complain about it and the whole re-applying demand thing and im sure its getting on everyone's nerves and thats why im just curious if theres any possible way to cut down the demand and have people complain a bit less

Re the BA and Joker, it might be easiest to pull them out of the Rares List altogether and just have them listed separately as high value pets worth a high september or main list pet, and just leave them up to the traders. Both seem to have rather unstable values anyway; it might be interesting to see how they move about in a more free trade environment. Just a random thought to throw out there. More of a trading experiment, really.
