Idk what to do. My best friend/crush asked me for my phone number out of the blue about a month ago. Ever since, we've texted almost every day, but I usually initiate the conversations. I don't have a problem with that, but I always feel like I'm bothering him even though he is more than willing to text me back and he tells me repeatedly that I'm his best friend, so it doesn't bother him. He always tells the truth, so I don't think he's lying, but I still feel like I'm pressuring him too much. Advice?

Simple. Don't text him first. Wait a few days (if it takes that long) to see if he'll text you first.

Did he do it for a reason? Like, to ask you out or to a dance or something? Thank him first, and then give your answer to whatever. Or just thank him. If you have no idea why he did it, you can say something like "What are these for?" after thanking him.

I did thank him, a million times in fact because, he got my fave flowers in the whole planet! Thanks for the help! He does random things like that a lot. Lol.

Everyone texts differently, so there's no 100% sure way to figure it out. The only way you can be positive about his true feelings is if he tells you himself.

However, there are some hints. He may use excessive faces compared to most people, especially ;). He'll most likely text you first a majority of the time, showing that he likes talking to you. He may compliment you or tell jokes, trying to get you to laugh or smile. Those are just a few common ways, but there's others. Like I said though, everyone texts differently, and he might be one of those guys that loves sending faces, texts a lot of people first, and loves telling jokes. Who knows?

he hasn't texted me as frequently the past two days i think because he's on vacation with his parents and it's hard to text someone when you're with your family. i'm just hoping that's the reason. i mean, we've texted every day for almost 3 weeks now. in these recent texts he just seems more short or to-the-point, maybe 'cause he's sneak-texting because parents.
i dunno, i think i'm going to tell him i like him when he gets back. i'm hoping i don't chicken out.
i mean, he's the one that told me those words in my signature.

The only problem is, the guy who likes me is the guy that my best friend really likes... So I am so confused! Does anybody have any advice on how to deal with this?

Since he's on vacation, he might just be busy. He might not want to ignore you, so he figures some reply is better than non at all. I wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure things will pick back up after he's done with vacation.

It's not too hard of decision, if I understand. Go after the one that likes you back. Then your friend can have the one she likes. It's somewhat of a win-win situation.

Yeah, don't chicken out of telling him. We're as confusing to guys as they are to us. He may like you back but have no clue if you feel the same. No real harm will come out of telling him, and if he doesn't feel the same then it's his loss.
