My name is Jinx "Fang" Slaughter and I, am a freak. At the age of 15 you'd think that I lead a normal life right? Nope. Unlike most teens I don't deal with social awkwardness, boys, too much homework, or trying to find the right outfit in the morning. No. I worry about survival. There are these people, these scientists and they're always talking about how what they do is for the better and how it could save the world. They're lying. They are killers, murderers, monsters, liars, and thieves. Most of the things created in their labs end up failing and dying within maybe hours or a few days but somehow, I've managed to survive along with a few others. We're the flock. Human kids with avian DNA. Or to be put simply, winged children.

I'm a bit different though. In the process of giving me wings the scientists tried to give me some feline DNA too. Before they put me out for the more painful stuff I heard them talking about making even stronger erasers by mixing in cat DNA. Thankfully, my own blood managed to dilute the feline blood and I came back pretty normal...kind of. I don't have cat ears or anything but I do have fangs which is why I like to be called Fang. Along with that my nails are a bit sharper than others and I have some small cat-like abilities.

Thanks to the experiments I don't even have a normal appearance without the wings! My eyes are unnaturally blue, my hair, is extremely blue and really long, and I'm really short. Okay, maybe my height isn't so weird but I happen to be very sensitive about it. My wings are huge. 17ft of feathery softness. On the back, my wings are dark like the night sky and are comparable to raven wings but my inside feathers are white speckled with black like a Peregrine Falcon. Actually, that's the bird I was fused with. The fastest bird in the sky. My wings are sleek and they cut through the air with ease and because of their shape, I can fold them pretty tightly to my back allowing me to hide my wings with jackets.

I do have some other fun things aside from my wings and stuff though. I've got some pretty cool piercings. first is my corset piercing that fits perfectly in the spacing of my wings, next are my snake bites that I don't wear too often for safety reasons, I also have multiple ear piercings, hip piercings, and a tongue piercing. I really like piercings if you can't tell. I've even got a few tattoos. I do have scars though, but most of them are from experiments.

As far as relationships go, I simply don't have the time. Between running for my life and trying to save the world, boys or maybe even a girl simply do no fit into the equation. I'm single and I'm ok with that. Who would want to date a freak anyway? I don't trust very easily. Even the others in the flock find themselves being pushed away at times. I'm afraid that if I let them in, they're going to betray me and stab me in the back. Sometimes though, on rare occasions, I like to be affectionate with the others sometimes acting as a sister and a friend. When something threatens my flock, I protect them without hesitation but when it comes to emotional things like boy problems, crushes, missing someone, and anything else that I find trivial, I take off and leave them to deal with it. Somewhere along the way though I'm sure I'll learn to trust the flock and maybe even grow to love them as if they were family. If anything, it's clear that we all have to stick together as much as possible because if we don't we're just a bunch of birds with broken wings who cant fly.
