Jackson rubbed her back. "I will always be here for you."

Maria nodded, laying her head on his chest. "I know," she said. "You know. I've heard that over and over. 'I'll always be there'. But everyone who's said it has broken it. But... When you say it... I don't know. It's different. It's like I know for sure you will. I like that."

"It's because, when I say it I truly mean it." Jackson said. "And I'm not like everyone else who has said it to you...I'm different. I promise you I will never leave, and I never break a promise. If you do get pregnant, I could never even think of leaving you and my child. I can't even think of doing it regardless of that status." He said, entwining his hands with hers. "I wish I could have been there for you when Lucas wasn't because I know what it's like to feel alone." He said.
