Here's a question to you - why does it matter what WE think? That's really the issue here, how much the opinions of others influence and concern you. If you are easily bothered by people disagreeing with you or tend to be influenced by their opinions, then you may have a slight problem if someone mentions the height being similar. If you don't care, then it is less likely to bother you.

My boyfriend is my height and the only person to whom that matters is me. Yes, every now and then I'm just like "Wow he's such a small guy compared to all the men I know, jeez" (particularly as I usually go for 6' + guys and he's shorter than even my 19 year old brother) but I can steal his shirts, we fit so nice when we snuggle, and being the same height means our hands are perfect for holding while we walk. We just.. move well together, fit well together. And hey, he can't change his height, so why make a fuss about it? And he has so many amazing qualities; he's handy with building and fixing, he's creative, he's musical, he's strong, he's communicative, he respects me, he loves animals, he has a thirst for knowledge, a passion for life... In all that, who gives a crap that he's only my height? (and I'm shorter than 5'10)

It doesn't matter. My boyfriend's the same height as me, if not only a cm taller than me. If you like the guy for his personality, his looks or his height shouldn't bother you, as long as you like him for him. If you guys end up dating, don't let it bother you, or you'll get uncomfortable around him and things like that.
