What exactly is mini-modding?

I found this quote on another thread in and thought it'd be helpful to add in.

"Generally mini modding is spam. All the mini mod can do is post about it breaking the rules, which has nothing to do with the topic at hand, so it is spam. Sometimes that leads to a discussion, creating more spam.
Also, there are usually mods online at different times who can answer, we have them for the reason. If we allowed any member to answer the questions / correct people, we wouldn't have mods. And people who aren't mods shouldn't be mini modding and potentially giving false info."

This has gone on long enough and most of the ML staff members are tired of dealing with this issue. booshcat, myself, and many other moderators have warned you guys about mini modding before. This is not the first time. This is not directed to anyone personally, but we have seen a lot of ML members mini mod, and we are kindly but strictly enforcing it to everyone in the ML community.

If you are not a moderator or co-owner, do not mini mod. It extremely disrespectful to the staff. We have three lovely moderators and three owners who are online at different times during the day and are pretty active. Mini-modding is not necessary.

Don't "ninja mods" or say that you have been "ninja'd by a mod". It's spam and it is pointless. You shouldn't be doing someone else's job. We have moderators for a reason, to moderate the thread.

What exasperates me the most, is when User #1 mini mods and gives User #2 the wrong information. This only creates more work for the ML moderators to correct the errors and explain to User #2, valid information. Even if you know the information is true, don't mini mod. It's annoying and only results into problems.

From now on, if anyone is caught mini modding, they will receive a strike. Strikes are pretty harmless, and usually act as a warning... but please refrain from mini modding.

Hello all, meet Giggles! Shes an upbeat, energetic ball of fluff. When she was little she accidentally rolled around in a puddle of Lime Green and Aqua dye, and when she shook herself off, this was the result! She loves her silky soft, fuzzy fur, and you'll always find her giggling, hence her name, Giggles! She's very socail and loves making new friends, will you be her friend?


Sorry this took me so long to finish XD the last few weeks of school were pretty hectic. I hope you all like her, I had quite a few problems trying to make my entry.. But I think she turned out alright ^_^ The mouth could be a bit better, but oh well. This isn't the best picture of her, my cameras stink XD
