Ammy wagged her tail "A couple, eh? I love seeing them, I do." She looked at Emerald. "I'm proud of you, little scrap. Likin' a wee lee one like her." She winked and went back to the forge, a scrap of metal hanging at her neck.

'A couple?' Aquila tilted his head, confused. 'No, we're not a couple,' he said. 'Not mates,' he whispered.

Ammy looked over to him. "Who are you trying to convince?"
Sapphire smiled awkwardly and swept her wings to her sides. "You'll have to excuse her... She seems to think anyone who is best friends are a couple." Sapphire was suddenly hit over the head by a large bushy white tail.
"You and him loved each other and you know it!"

'No, it's fine,' Aquila said. 'Sometimes it seems that way with creatures.'

Ammy bristled, "Creatures?! I'll have you know I can pick up on feelings." She hit Aquila with her tail. "You like her. She likes you. As far as I'm concerned, all you have to do is tell her. Sapphire never did and look, now she lives alone relying on a 'creature' of such low status!" She showed a splayed paw, the sign of a gnaw wolf.

"No, no! I wasn't calling you a creature! I meant that sometimes when two creatures are close, but not mates, other animals think they're mates," Aquila said.
