Kismesissitude is like the inverse of Matespritship, revolving around the negative emotions instead of the positive.
With a matesprit, you strive to better yourself so you can be good enough for your partner; with a kismesis, you strive to better yourself so you can outdo your partner.

There is a violent hate mixed in there, but at the end of the day you don't want to do more than wound your partner. And, under no circumstances, would you ever try to kill your partner. It is still a form of love, after all.
